Creating a Culture of Reading
Mrs. Hill, believes that reading for pleasure builds the enthusiasm and skills for lifelong learning. Schools with a reading culture have a staff that values, models and encourages reading for pleasure as well as academics. At Windsor Elementary school the staff and students participate in silent sustain reading every day. The library operate on a mixed schedule and is always open to students. The students are encouraged not only to read at school but also to read at home. Mrs. Hill knows that creating a reading culture in a school is essential if we want students to become motivated readers. Please join us in developing a stronger reading culture. It takes time but it can be done with the commitment of the staff and the parents of the students at Windsor Elementary School. We have begun and we are “Moving on Up”.
