Early Education Center

Fall 2022 Newsletter

Greetings!

We are grateful you chose the Early Education Center as your early childhood home. Students are settling into their routine and the energy in the building is exciting. We look forward to supporting your student’s healthy development in the months to come! You will find a variety of resources and announcements below.

Sincerely, The Early Education Team

Family Life : Staying Healthy

We continue to diligently work to keep our youngest learners in school and feeling great. You can help slow the spread of illness and keep your family healthy with these tips:

  • Get enough sleep. Preschoolers need 11 - 13 hours of sleep for optimal learning.

  • Stay home when you’re sick. Please wait 24 hours after symptoms improve to return to school.

  • Connect to SeeSaw for class and building announcements. Ask your child’s teacher how.

Take steps to build healthy eating habits into your family’s schedule

Phone Free Zone

Watch for changes in our hallways soon! We are working toward common areas being a Phone Free Zone. Use the time when you are in these spaces to connect with your child by engaging in conversation, playing a simple game, or enjoying the art displays while you wait or visit.

Community Parent Survey

First Children’s Finance has chosen Alexandria to participate in their Rural Child Care Innovation Program. The Rural Child Care Innovation Program is a community engagement process designed to develop right-sized solutions to address the needs of child care and early education for the communities selected to participate.

Over an 18-month period, chosen communities will focus on opportunities and challenges they are facing with child care. First Children’s Finance helps facilitate the conversation and provides expertise, tools, and resources to support the creation and implementation of solutions to address child care shortages in rural communities.

Your participation in this survey will help guide the conversation and the combined responses will provide insights into the child care challenges in Alexandria.
