Navigating the River
Week of December 16
A note about next week ...
To support our students to do their best on the final assessments of the semester, we have developed a schedule that allows for breaks and review time for every class. In reviewing the schedule for midterm week, you will notice that no assessments are scheduled for Thursday, December 19th. This is so that we are able to design quality instructional and relationship building experiences for that date in every class just as we did on the first days of school this year. We believe that this will be a healthy and engaging way to end our first semester.
I humbly request that we have your partnership in assuring that your child is in attendance for the full day each day of the midterm week. I do understand that there are some circumstances that will require some students to be absent. I am requesting your cooperation in avoiding any early check outs that week. Last year, I made this same request, and both teachers and students shared that it allowed for a smooth, stress-free transition to the holiday. Thank you for helping to make that happen!
If it is a necessity to check your child out early, please be aware that our check-out process requires the following:
- Your child’s student number (available in parent portal)
- A government issued photo identification
- The person checking the student out must be listed in parent portal. Click HERE for instructions on how to add individuals to a student record.
Thank you for the multitude of ways that you support RMS!
