Family Newsletter - December 10th
Message from your Assistant Principals and support staff
At the same time we want to share with you a couple of concepts that we are working with students on that we need your help with as well.
- Keeping your hands to your self - Sounds easy, but is hard with kids who want to play. We communicate to students that play fighting or "rough-housing" is not safe at school. Our students forget that they've grown in the last two years. It's hard to understand when kids are friends or even related, but we hope to have your support with this.
- Running in the hallways - We have big beautiful halls and kids who like to be first in line at lunch or even up the stairs. We are seeing and increase in this behavior recently, especially with our younger students. Students need to remember that if staff ask them to walk or stop, they need to do so, especially with rainwater being tracked in from outside.
These to areas of support would be much appreciated and make a great impact on safety.

Our neighbor - 7-11 store
Just a reminder in regards to 7-11 in the morning:
- If a parent drops off their student at our school campus, we are not allowing students to leave campus before school to go to the store. Once they are on campus, we take responsibility for their safety.
- If you are allowing them to shop at the store in the morning, please drop them off near the store so they can walk to campus afterwards.
Our 7-11 neighbor is owned by a great family who are in communication with us and also have student safety in mind.
December 20- 31 Winter Break
Greetings from the Holgate Library.
You may be aware that our building will be demolished sometime in late 2022 and a much larger building will be built in place.
We want to make sure to hear community needs before this happens, so are having a virtual Community Engagement meeting. Would you be willing to pass this on to staff and your community?
Thanks for considering.
Here are the details.
Share your ideas for the renovations and additions to Holgate and Midland libraries so that the libraries better represent your communities and meet your needs! Each library will have its own open house. You are welcome to join either one, or come to both! Vietnamese, Chinese, Russian, Spanish and ASL interpretation will be provided.
All participants will be entered to win a Kroger e-gift card. One attendee will receive a $50 gift card, two attendees will receive a $25 gift card and five attendees will receive a $10 gift card. Winners will be selected randomly.
