ABSENCES: Please call {634-2219} or email (dgeibel@mdsd.org) if your child(ren) will be absent. Automated calls will go out to all unverified absences, shortly after attendance for the safety/accountability of all students.
DISMISSAL PROCESS:
Students are directed to go home the way the classroom teacher has on file, unless they have a note from the parent/or office for that day. If you need to send a message to your child with a change of dismissal plans; calls should be made to the school by 2:30 to give us enough time to deliver the message. It does count against your child's attendance if they are checked out before 3:00.
Here are the six dismissal options:
1. Buses: Teachers walk students directly to buses to load at 3:00. Buses strive to leave BRMES campus quickly to load at PLMS at 3:10. Students need to be registered through Harlow's to ride the bus. We have registration forms at the school or you can contact Harlow's.
2. Woodlands Neighborhood: These students are dismissed to walk/bike home through the north doors at 3:00.
4. Pick Up Students: These students are dismissed out the front/main doors at 3:00. It is helpful if parents wait outside of the school to allow ample space for students to exit. We will direct students out the right, front doors to the grass area to connect with a waiting adult OR out the left, front doors to load directly into loading zone cars. Students must stay back, away from the traffic. Two crosswalks/guards are available to safely cross students with his/her adult(s). If you choose to stay in your vehicle, in the loading zone, please do not leave your vehicle unattended and simply pull forward as soon as space allows. We try to load up to 4 cars at a time, on the curb side of vehicles.
5. PLMS/Fox Ridge Neighborhood/Walking/Biking Students: These students gather in the gym and as soon as buses leave, they begin their walk/bike ride towards PLMS.
6. PLCA {After School Program} for registered students, in the cafeteria.
Safety is our number one priority, so we ask for your patience and heightened awareness during dismissal times by all schools.
