Mission Statement
The Eucharistic community of Saint Paschal Baylon Catholic School
focuses on Christ-centered values and develops the unique potential of each student
through a rigorous and engaging curriculum.
A Note from the Principal
Dear SPB Families,
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to say THANK YOU to all of our families for sharing the gift of your children with us and for your steadfast support of our school. What a blessing it is for me to see 350+ students participate in our learning community whether in person or online and to have parents who see the value in Catholic education. We have all been challenged in so many ways these past nine months, but our faith is what sustains us in those tough moments.
I have always said that the sense of community that surrounds SPB is what makes it such a special place, and I truly feel blessed and lucky to be a part of it. Thank you for all that you do, big or small, to make SPB a loving and vibrant community of faith, friendship, and love!
Please take a moment to watch the video below of some of our kindergarteners, first graders, and second graders courtesy of Miss Margevicius and her virtual music lessons. It will warm your heart!
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Saint Paschal Baylon Catholic School, I wish you and your families a blessed Thanksgiving filled with God's peace!
Blessings,
Diane Raguz, Principal

COVID-19 Travel Advisory
With Thanksgiving tomorrow, we have heard that families may be traveling out of state. We need your help to ensure that we can offer in-person learning safely. If your family travels to a state that is on the Ohio Department of Health's COVID-19 Travel Advisory List, it is recommended by ODH that your child quarantine for 14 days upon return. Your child can move to online learning during this period. We need families to take this responsibility. The states on the list have a positivity rate of 15% or higher. The list of states is updated every Wednesday. The most recent one can be found here. Thank you!

Tutor Available
I want to offer my services as a tutor to all K-8 SPB students FOR FREE until we return to in class learning (and should we ever go remote again later in the year as well). Availability is first come first served (and that may change as students may not need a tutor on a "regular" basis). I can tutor any subject and any grade level (I am a certified teacher; and, while my certifications are P-12 Music and 7-12 Integrated Mathematics, I can tutor all subjects). If you would like more information, please let me know (elizabethm.souers@gmail.com). I created a SignUp Genius "page". Here is the link:

Advent Prayers
Advent Wreath Blessing
adapted from the Book of Blessings, 1528
Lord our God,
we praise you for your Son, Jesus Christ:
You are Emmanuel, the hope of the of the peoples.
You are the wisdom that teaches and guides us.
You are the Savior of every nation.
Lord God,
let your blessing come upon us,
and this wreath,
as we light the candles during this Advent Season.
May the wreath, its light, and our faith
be a sign of Christ’s promise to bring us salvation.
May Christ come quickly and not delay
to bring peace, joy, hope, and love to our world
and those most in need.
Through Christ our Lord.
Advent Prayer
(for meals and other times)
Come Lord Jesus! Maranatha!
All-powerful God,
look kindly on us
as we await the coming of the Christ.
Bless our homes,
and unite us to all people everywhere
who wait for the coming of your Son Jesus Christ.
Help those who will go hungry this day.
May this season bring peace, comfort and joy
as we share our love with everyone.
Come Lord Jesus! Maranatha!
5th Grade Parents-We Need YOU!
We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:15 am-12:50 pm. There are many, many time slots open! We are so grateful for the help!
This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:10 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting the students to and from the school doors. Volunteers will be with one school staff member each day to help direct.
Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.
COVID-19 Volunteer Protocol: all recess volunteers are required to wear a mask and complete the Visitor Self-Screening form when they arrive at school.
Thank you again for your time and service to the students and teachers of SPB! Simply click on the following links to sign up: Grade 5
