Principal's Weekly Update
RAISE Goal: To have fun at break times by respecting my classmates and doing something positive.
Te reo phrase of the week: whakaute atawhai - Friendly Respect
Kia ora,
We have had another great sporting week! We had a swimming instructor work with all of the classes on Thursday and Taranaki Cricket came in today to take our students through some fantastic drills. It has also been neat to see our bike track being used and plenty of PE activities happening in class and at break times.
I have taken a few visitors around the school this week and I must say the presentation of our buildings and grounds is looking amazing. It is a credit to the hard work our teachers and students have been putting in to really make their classes look bright and inviting. I love seeing the students work up on the classroom walls early in Term 1 as I think it gives our students a real sense of ownership of their class for the rest of the year.
Athletics Afternoon
On Wednesday next week we have our Athletics Afternoon. We’ll have an early lunch at 12 pm and get under way at 12:30 pm. The SPA will be selling sausages for $2 each. These will be given out at the start of lunch to make sure that we start on time. Please note that this event is about getting all of the students to participate and our teachers/staff will be looking out for the best student supporters who are showing our RAISE values. The school will have sunblock on hand, but we would appreciate it if you could send your child to school with sunblock already on and their school hat in their bag.
