What was it?

Mao Zedong launched the cultural revolution making communism led by destroying education in its country calling on the youth of the nation to revive it to its former glory.

Why was it important in delaying the Cold War?

Its importance in the relay of the Cold War was that Mao's decision's forced the stop on education making the country not progress but slowdown instead.

United Nations

What was it?

A group of 51 nations formed together and pledged their government to keep fighting against the axis powers.

Why was it important in delaying the Cold War?

Their importance is that they worked together to slow down the production of the soviets

and their supporters.

Iron Curtain

What was it?

Iron Curtain is a metaphor used to describe the soviets by sealing themselves off from the eastern and central European allies.

Why was it important in delaying the Cold War?

The importance of the iron curtain is that it was a shield protecting the soviets from harms way. This delayed the Cold War by making no change occur throughout Europe.

What was it?

Containment is the process FDR made up which was to contain Communism and prevent other countries form using communism in their countries.

Why was it important in delaying the Cold War?

This delayed the country because the U.S and Soviets were going back and forth fighting against each other for every country to decide Anti- or communism.

What was it?

Brinkmanship the capability of going to the brink and during the cold war it was the brink of nuclear weaponry.

Brinkmanship delayed the Cold War because all countries were scared to do anything if any case that one country may drop bombs on them.

One of the first leaders to establish communism in the western hemisphere. Success in reducing illiteracy stamping out racism and improving public health care.

Why was it important in delaying the Cold War?

The importance of this event is that during the Cold War the U.S invaded Cuba making us break their trust causing the Cubans act, making the U.S unable to have a connection with Cuba to this day.

He was important in the delay of the cold war because his decision on siding with communism made vietnam go through a whole war and nothing came out of it.

What was it?

13-day political standoff against nuclear weapons in cuba. The U.S was prepared to use military force if necessary to neutralize the issue.
