Showcase a School
Hillcrest Elementary School
Lori Hebert, Hillcrest Principal, and Katelynn Downey, 2nd Grade Teacher, presented a slideshow presentation titled English Language Arts Instructional Routines. Ms. Downey shared six instructional routines that teachers utilize in their classrooms, which promote student engagement and allow students to take ownership of their learning. Maxine, a first grader at Hillcrest, shared with the Board examples of the work she has completed about books she has read. ; click here for more details.

Consideration of R-2.1.a: Academic Performance (ELA)
Sue Kern, Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction, provided an overview of the R-2.1.a: Academic Performance (ELA) results monitoring report; the Board agreed that the district has made adequate progress in that regard; click here for a copy of the report.

Chad Trowbridge, Executive Director of Business Services & Finance, provided an overview of the OE-7 Financial Administration monitoring report; the Board agreed that the District is in compliance with OE-7 Financial Administration; click here for a copy of the report.

Matters Reserved for Board Action
Consideration of Chi-Hi Green Team Financial Support and Grant Submission
Maddie Hunt, Kam Glamann, and Bella Biederman, members of Chi-Hi’s Green Team, presented their grant submission proposal and lighting bids. They shared that the grant application is almost completed and the deadline to submit is January 30, 2023. The Green Team asked the Board for matching funds of $101,959.00, which will increase their chances of grant approval. If the grant does not get approved, the Green Team will resubmit the application next year; The Board approved the Green Team's grant submission as presented and discussed, with the district committing to $101,959.00 in matching funds from the District should the grant be awarded. Consideration of Audit Report
Kyle Gruber of WIPFLI, LLP outlined the 2021-2022 audit report; the Board approved the 2021-2022 audit report as presented; click here for more details.

Michelle Golden, Executive Director of Human Resources & Public Relations, provided an overview of the administration and support staff compensation studies that are currently being conducted. She will present the findings at the January board meeting.
