Thank You WLWV Teachers!
Help Us Improve Our Communication!
We are constantly striving to improve our communication methods so that you are up-to-date on what's happening at school and at the District level. This survey should take no more than 5 minutes and will provide valuable feedback for staff as we continue to learn and grow. Thank you!
Help Us Reimagine High School at Parent Forum May 24
Comprised of high school parents, principals, teachers, and district administrators, the Study Group will eventually share its findings with Superintendent Kathy Ludwig and the WLWV School Board. In furthering its research, the Study Group is now looking for parent input. That's why we'd like you to join us for a Parent Forum on Thursday, May 24, starting at 6 p.m. at the District Office; 22210 SW Stafford Road, Tualatin, OR 97062. There, parents will learn more about the ongoing study, ask questions, and provide input on future high school considerations in a variety of methods. We'll see you there!

CREST Partners with McDonald's for Earth Day
The West Linn-Wilsonville School District’s Center for Research in Environmental Sciences and Technologies (CREST) welcomed Wilsonville McDonald’s, state legislators, students and community members for a special Earth Day celebration on Monday, April 23.
In honor of the national holiday, Boones Ferry Primary fourth-graders participated by planting vegetation donated by Wilsonville McDonald’s. The celebration marks the third year of the tradition, and highlights an exciting development, as Wilsonville McDonald’s has donated funding that will expand CREST’s Farm-to-Cafeteria program. The donation will allow CREST to grow increased varieties and amounts of produce, which will add to the table grapes and kiwi berries that CREST currently provides for West Linn-Wilsonville School District cafeterias.
CREST began its partnership with McDonald’s three years ago when Wilsonville McDonald’s Owner/Operator Randi Ray was looking for an environmentally-friendly way to recycle coffee grounds and reduce waste. As a result, CREST has been collecting McDonald’s used coffee grounds to be used for composting. In 2016, the Ray organization purchased supplies for the CREST Bee Club, allowing high school students to gain first-hand experience in beekeeping.

Wood Eighth-Graders Travel to Washington D.C. for We The People National Invitational
Walk into Linda Koller’s second period class and you’ll likely find students deep in research or engaged in rich debate ranging anywhere from analysis of the constitution to the societal impact of recent executive orders. It’s the type of learning you might expect to find in a high-level high school class or even college course, yet it’s the norm for Wood Middle School eighth-grade students.
The class of 35 eighth-graders have spent the past several months learning everything there is to know about the constitution, the Bill of Rights, and government as a whole in preparation for a prestigious competition. The hard-working team of students traveled to Washington D.C. for the We The People National Invitational, which started May 4 and spanned through the weekend. There, some of the brightest young minds in the country competed in simulated Congressional Hearings at the National Conference Center. Read all about the trip on the District Website.
