SBS Weekly Update

October 12th, 2020

Principal's Notes

I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the long weekend. It is hard to believe we are approaching the middle of October.

October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. Father Tom visited our second grade classroom on Friday, and blessed their rosary beads. Please lift our 2nd Graders in prayer as they embark on learning the power of the Rosary, and the role it can play in their faith.

Typically in October we join together as a community to participate in our Annual Freaky Family 5K that is hosted by our PTO. Although we can't hold our race, I think it is a good time to remember all that our PTO has done and continues to do in support of our students and school families. Please join me in prayerful thanks for our PTO.

Thank you specifically to our PTO Executive Members;

  • Melissa Read, President
  • Michelle Tomalonis, Treasurer
  • Kelli Kennedy, Secretary

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

All my best,

Matthew Collins

Principal

SBS Halloween Traditions

Due to the required social distancing guidelines we will not be holding our Annual Halloween Costume Parade.

This year we will be holding two Halloween dress down days and individual class parties during the last week of October.

  • Teachers in Preschool - Grade 2 will communicate with parents about classroom parties.
  • Due to scheduling associated with the split upper grades, there will need to be split parties. Teachers in Grades 3 - 8 will contact parents about specific plans.
