Hammerschmidt's Happenings
Week of Sept. 7th - 11th
Dear WHS Staff,
KUDOS! -- Parent feedback:
Also, I want to say thank you to you and all the teachers for all the hard work that has gone into preparing for this school year. Nate and I are very impressed at the quality and organization of the online platforms, and have been impressed with the way the teachers have been able to engage and teach the kids thus far. This experience is very much improved and different (better) than the spring (which I fully understand was an emergency situation that everyone was thrown into, so this isn't a criticism of spring.) We'd love for this pandemic to be over and kids to be able to be back in school like normal, but after seeing this first week of virtual learning, I'm certain that the kids can have a good experience with online learning as well. Kudos to everyone for a job well done.

Cleaning and Disinfecting Procedures in Buildings
We know there have been various questions about cleaning and sanitization procedures in the buildings. Here is a brief summary as to what chemicals we are using and the process we are following to keep our buildings and clean and as safe as possible.
BackPack Sprayers
Jon Dathe and our custodial team have often been seen wearing a backpack to sanitize our workspaces. These are actually called electrostatic sprayers. Here is the exact website if you want more information other than what is listed below: https://victorycomplete.com/. Basically it does the following:
It provides a thin, even spray pattern on all surfaces
The HDPE tank holds 2.25 gallons of disinfecting solution, which can coat up to 23,000 sq. ft. per tank.
Overall, it allows our custodians to disinfect in a more efficient way by covering more square footage at once.
Disinfecting Products
The chemicals we use in the backpack sprayers are:
Bioesque-Botanical Disinfectant Solution(It is on the EPA list N approved, #87742-1) https://bioesquesolutions.com/botanical-disinfectant-solution/
Chemsan-(EPA list N approved, #10324-81)
The other chemicals that we use for disinfecting and sanitizing daily are:
Diversey Oxivir tb-(EPA List N approved #70627-56)
Diversey Morning Mist(EPA List N approved #1839-169)
Zep Spirit 2(EPA List N approved #1839-83)
Cleaning Processes
The buildings are cleaned and disinfected in the morning and evenings, and throughout the day as needed.

Item of Personal Significance
My Happy Place
I would say that my happy place is at the lake or ocean with my friends and family. Or on my couch watching Netflix and eating snacks.
What is your (soon not to be) secret obsession?
My secret obsession is the show The Office. I have watched the entire show (9 seasons) start to finish approximately 10 times. I listen to it when I'm eating, when I get ready and anytime I'm in the car.
If you weren't doing what you are doing now at Hammerschmidt and decided to take a completely different career path, what would it be?
I would love to be an event planner.
What was your most embarrassing moment that you are willing to share (either personally or professionally)?
It was my first gymnastics meet as a highschool gymnast. I was first up on the very first event, which happened to be vault. I was so nervous, I kind of blacked out and forgot what I was doing mid run down the runway. I am not exactly sure what happened, but I ran directly into the vault at full speed and then just laid on top of it in shock. The entire gym was silent. Worst part was, I had to get up and try it again because you always get two attempts. I ran down the runway for the second time crying to hard I couldn't even see where I was going. Somehow I managed to get over that time, but was still mortified. Vault was never my strongest event after that lol.
