Welcome Back!
We hope that you had a great summer. We would like to welcome our new teachers to the CCS family. If you have any needs or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Updated State Standards
Did you know.... state standards have been updated. Time lines and clear learning targets are being revised to reflect the changes. Be sure to visit ODE's website to learn more.

Give ODE your opinion about the changes
Now through September 13, you can take part in an online survey to tell ODE what you think of the changes to the standards. Visit the link below.
ALEKS news
On Tuesday, August 22, the district performed a major bulk upload to create all new teacher and students accounts. This helps clean up years of data, duplicate students account, etc. Each building principal was asked to submit 1-2 names of teachers to serve as building admins.
Building admins will have access to run building reports, move students from one teacher to another (within the same building), and create new teacher accounts (and reset teacher passwords).
We only do the bulk upload once. Any changes needed from that point on have to be done manually. Please let us know if you need help with this.
As always, please refer to the teacher PD page for extra support, including a detailed handbook on how to use ALEKS in Columbus City Schools. Click the link below:
ConnectED
ConnectED issues have been resolved and your accounts should be ready to go. You should see content necessary for each class you are listed as a teacher of record in Infinite Campus. Be sure to try out all of the great resources such as Plan to Present, tutorial videos, test generator, and much more. Click on the poster to the right to see login information.

Summer Contest
Our first ever ALEKS summer contest was a huge success! Individual school data was sent to building principals on August 29. We are in the process of determining winners, so stay tuned!
Math & Science Design Challenge (MSDC)
The MSDC is open to all students in grades 6. Students will work on mini challenges at their school during the year. In May, selected groups will compete in a final challenge at COSI. We invite you to join in the fun this year! Watch the video of last year's event below. Please contact Jesse Ireland (JIreland4224).
