Start with Hello Campaign
This week our school participated in Sandy Hook’s Promise, Start with Hello Campaign. We had many opportunities to gain greater awareness about social isolation and education on how to create communities where everyone feels safe, accepted and connected. Some of our activities included: Being greeted with announcements conveying messages of kindness and social inclusion, an assembly discussing the importance of inclusion, celebrating and learning about the significance of living in a diverse community, and creating a “Start With Hello” Post-it wall with positive messages to serve as daily reminders about the importance of being kind to others.

Hi! How's your day going. Start with Hello! We are all Connected!
Important! Please Read
After School Pick up for Chorus, Chess Club, and Band: The Buses arrive to pick up students between 3:15 and 4:00 pm daily even though it may look like they are done, sometimes they have to come back to school.
During this time, we cannot allow for cars to be parked in the front loop. Please note when picking up your student from Band, Chorus or Chess club, you will need to go behind the building to line up and wait for them to be released from that activity.
Thank you!
If you can't do something, don't give up because I know you can do it!
Never give up if you Fail!
You are a nice person, don't stop believing that!

What is PBIS
PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is off to a great start at Fleming School! PBIS is our framework for teaching and rewarding expected behaviors. We focus on our four fundamentals: Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Respectful, Be Responsible. We learn about these through our morning announcements, morning meetings, special assemblies, and lots of visuals throughout the school.
What are these Feather Cards all about??
When a student is “caught” demonstrating one of these fundamentals, they receive a Falcon Feather Card. Cards are collected in the classroom, and when the class earns 100 cards they receive an egg. Eggs are collected in the “nest” in our lobby so we can see our progress. When we reach our targeted goal, we CELEBRATE!! It takes the whole school working as a team to earn these celebrations. So far we have enjoyed Fort Day, and next week we look forward to seeing double, triple and beyond on Twin Day! Stay tuned for photos of this eagerly-anticipated celebration.
What can I do to support PBIS??
Ask your students how they show expected behaviors in the classroom, the playground, the hallways and the cafeteria. What are they working towards?
Thank you for supporting your student’s efforts to Be Safe, Kind, Respectful and Responsible.

Box Top Collection:
This year, we will be actively collecting Box Tops for Education! A Form went home last Friday, to start at home collection, and more will be available in the office to grab. To encourage families and students to collect and bring Box Tops into school, we will be holding a school wide collection competition, and the Class that brings in the most, will be rewarded with a classroom celebration of a Pizza Party!!! More details in our Next Fleming Flyer addition. New this year, Box tops has announced that they are ending the paper box tops, and now have an app to scan receipts to earn money for the school. When downing loading the app from the Google store or Apple Play, you will need our school ID: 131296
So far this is where our classroom counts stand:
Songer is in the lead with 114
Young is in second place with 87
Lemnah is wrapping up the top three with 51
Let's keep them coming in!!!!
A note from Ms. McClintock
Volunteers are always welcome!
