What to expect of Gator Bites

We will use this digital platform this year to communicate current and upcoming events and information for all stakeholders interested in River Bluff High School. We will post and send out each week to communicate with you. Go Gators!

Gators of the Week - Work hard. Get smart. Do good.

Gators of the Week: Davon Johnson Leaves for North South Football Practice and Competition

Work hard. One of only 44 players chosen from the South Region, Davon Johnson will practice and compete this upcoming Saturday in the annual North South All Star Football game in Myrtle Beach, SC. Chosen for his performance and leadership on the field, Davon will represent RB, his family and himself very well this week. We are so proud to support him in this amazing accomplishment.

Gators of the Week: Continue to Finish Strong

Get Smart: Dr. Clamp reminds all students of their challenge to finish strong and produce A work (high quality work) on their final assessments for the second nine weeks. An updated schedule for the end of the semester can be found on the district's website under Academic Calendars.

Gators of the Week: Katelyn Sease Continues to Give

Do good. Ms. Robin Hill's CREW, the "HILLbillies" (under the leadership of Katelyn Sease) organized, purchased, and packed 17 boxes for Operation Christmas Child. They had donations of toys, books, tools, fishing kits, soaps, toothbrushes/toothpaste, socks, and more from other CREWs such as, Coach Bonnette's CREW, Mrs. Ray's CREW and Mrs. Collins' CREW. They packed 16 boxes for boys and girls in the "older" age group because they are the least served, and 1 box for a small child.

This past week, Katelyn Sease had the opportunity to extend this giving by traveling to Charlotte NC and being a part of the distribution effort. Amazing job extending this service opportunity.

Long Beach High School, NY Sends Supplies to RBHS

Nike Work Based Learning Center Serves RBHS and SC Flood Victims

The name of the school is the Nike Work-Based Learning Center, an alternative high school setting within the Long Beach Public School District on Long Island. It will be three years ago this coming Thursday when the town of Long Beach was decimated by Hurricane Sandy. Recently, a fried to our Counselor Dr. Vacchio, had kept an eye on my social media presence and on the news, and he had reached out to RB to see how the Nike Center could help with our local flood relief efforts.

The school's administrator Mr. Howard Fuchs, classmate and teammate to Dr. Vacchio, set a goal twofold: for Nike WBL Center to establish and maintain a lasting relationship with RBHS and to help with fundraising and donation efforts in our area. Pictures below show the fruits of this labor. SC and RBHS is eternally indebted to the service of the students at this high school and look forward to a long term relationship.

EL Design Principle in Action

The Having of Wonderful Ideas

Teaching in Expeditionary Learning schools fosters curiosity about the world by creating learning situations that provide something important to think about, time to experiment, and time to make sense of what is observed.

Hats off to the CREW design team for creating such an amazing learning experience for Senior CREWs in the IMPACT conference, tackling the question; "How can I be a better local to global citizen".
