Past four years of WorkKeys
Tremont 9/21- 9/23/18
We arrived for lunch on Friday. After lunch we collected salamanders, played camouflage, and built shelters. That night after supper, we hiked up lumber ridge and looked across the valley to mountains and saw several bats.
On Saturday, we did a 4 1/2 mile hike to campsite 18. We each did a 1 mile solo hike. Lorena saw a snake and Sarah saw a bear cub. At the campsite we had lunch by the creek. Peyton saw 2 snakes! Some of the kids crawled through a dead tree and we saw a copperhead! After dinner, we had our campfire and sang lots of songs. We also enjoyed s'mores.
Sunday morning we hiked to the Lagoons and had boat races. We also had some quiet reflection time before we returned to the crazy world of technology and social media.
In all, we had a great time!
Student Interview of Tremont Goers
What was your favorite activity from Tremont?
"I enjoyed the campfire we had at the end of our Saturday hike, we were able to be our competitive selves in the comfort of the dark and our camaraderie. In a personal sense I enjoyed that they gave us time to be alone during our solo hike and during our journal time where I sat by the river and wrote in my journal and just be in my own world."- Odalys Ordonez
