END OF YEAR EXPECTATIONS FOR 8TH GRADERS PRESENTED BY MS. DESANTO
INFORMATION ABOUT PROMOTION EVENT
We will have seating for our scholars only. Families are welcome to bring their own chairs. This allows families to bring more than just 2 people to the event. Please leave the balloons in the car as they will not be permitted at the ceremony as they obstruct the view. Families are welcome to tie the balloons to the fence lines.
The ceremony will last approximately 1 hour. At the conclusion of the ceremony, there will be an opportunity to take photos by the handball courts. The promotion certificates and programs will be sent home on Tuesday, June 7 to ensure they do not get damaged.

IMPORTANT PROMOTION INFORMATION
Promoting from middle school to high school is a big deal. We celebrate our scholars with a special Promotion Ceremony that is held at the end of the school year. We will be contacting families and meeting with scholars who have less than a 2.0 GPA at the semester. As we prepare our scholars for high school, a 2.0 GPA is required for participation in activities including sports. Thank you for your support with this.
Eligibility for Promotion
Scholars must have earned a GPA of 2.0 or higher by the end of the 3rd quarter reporting period. Scholars with a GPA lower than 2.0 may not be invited to the promotion ceremony. Scholars who receive five or more referrals, or days of suspension for the second semester may not be invited to the promotion ceremony. Administration reserves the right to modify participation criteria for promotion.
Promotion Dress Code
Scholars participating in promotion are expected to be dressed appropriately, according to district standards. This means no shorts or hats. All undergarments are to be covered at all times. Strapless or backless dresses will not be permitted and all straps on dresses/shirts must be at least one wide (1”). Dresses and skirts must be at least thumb length when against the scholar’s thigh. Sandals with back straps are allowed, however no flip flops. Heels must be less than two inches (2”) high. Wedges are preferable as scholars will be walking in the grass. Remember, there is a bit of a walk during the processional of the event. Choose shoes that won’t hurt your feet!

Thank you for helping us help YOU! It is essential that parents/families make appointments to see Administrators at RMMS. We know sometimes things come up quickly, however, in order to serve our families, we need you to schedule an appointment. Parents who arrive on campus prior to school beginning will need to wait until school starts to meet with an Administrator. Please note that all Administrators are on campus, welcoming scholars, each morning from 8:00 am - 8:30 am. Administrators are not available to meet with parents during this time. We thank you for your understanding and patience. Please schedule an appointment by calling 760-631-4500.
Our scholars are assigned an Administrator based on their last names. We are all here to help! Please call Ms. Claudia at 760-631-4500, x64006, to set up an appointment if needed or click on the AP's name to email them directly in English or Spanish. Be sure to include your scholar's name.
