A Message from Dave
The Glenealy School Fair is coming on Friday, and there’s already a buzz in the playground as parents, teachers and students gear up for this whole school event! This is a big night for the Glenealy community and a fantastic event. A huge amount of effort goes into making this a success and we really appreciate the support from all those involved. We look forward to seeing you all there!
As a reminder all of our students will be singing and playing their hearts out, so please make sure you have your child’s performance times in your diary.

Glenealy Money
Glenealy Money is the currency of choice for all our fair games, food stalls, the Bar and the PTA Stalls (books, DVDs, kitchenware). A great way to avoid queues on the night is to buy your Glenealy Money in the playground every morning and afternoon this week. Don’t forget to bring along some extra cash, as our external vendors prefer legal tender and have a whole range of family-friendly shopping offers to tempt you.
Calling all bakers and volunteers!
Our dessert stall is looking for more donations. Whatever your favorite sweet treat is, we know others will enjoy it too. If you can donate to the dessert stall, contact Aisling via email to pta@glenealy.net.
If baking is not your thing then it’s not too late to volunteer to help on the night. Click here to be part of this fantastic community event.
Glenealy Goes Green
This year, we’re more than ever committed to making our Fair green and environmentally friendly. On the night of the Fair, please bring along your own plates and cups to sample the delicious food stalls. We will have a dedicated Recycling Zone in order to help us achieve our goal of 100% recycling of plastic bottles, aluminium cans and glass bottles. Look out for this on the night and take action to be green!
Also, let us take your 2nd Hand Books and pre-loved DVDs off your hands – donations accepted in the playground (near the Glenealy Money Stall) all this week.
Unique and Priceless Experiences
Our Silent Auction offers an array of amazing experiences for your children – click here to see what you can bid for. Kids’ entertainment at the Fair is taken care of, click here to see the amazing games on offer. Once the children are occupied, parents are free to enjoy the NovemberFest Bar atmosphere and sample the international cuisine. No matter what you fancy for Friday night dinner – Glenealy School Fair has got it. So come hungry and eat your way around the world!
Camp Season
The lovely clear weather we have been experiencing over the last two weeks has been well received, especially as a number of Glenealy students have had the chance to swap the classroom for the great outdoors of Lantau to experience camp. Surfing, Cycling, Coasteering, Raft building, Gorging, Archery and Climbing are just some of the experiences on offer for our Years 3, 5 and 6’s (Year 4 get their chance in term 3).
These camps are an important part of our education programme here at Glenealy as the use of the outdoors makes a major contribution to physical and environmental education. It contributes to personal growth and social awareness and develops skills for life and the world of work. Qualities such as a sense of responsibility and a purpose in life are nurtured. There is also a great deal of intrinsic enjoyment and satisfaction to be experienced from participation in outdoor activities. This was clearly seen on the smiles of the children who I was lucky enough to attend the year 5 camp with. I would like to thank all the Teachers and Educational assistants who have attended these camps with the students as well as a special thank you to Ms. Thompson who is passionate about making these experiences the best they can be for our Glenealy children.
Sports day
Save the Date! Glenealy Sports Day is locked in the calendar for Friday 2nd December. As usual this fantastically athletic Glenealy tradition will be held at the Kowloon Cricket Club (KCC) from 9:30-1:30. There is a cup on offer for the best dressed support so please come in your child’s house colours!
Cold weather uniform
As the weather fluctuates at this time of year we may have some cooler days. If you have Glenealy winter uniform then students are encouraged to wear this to school. However, we are aware that the PTA shop is currently experiencing a delay in receiving new winter stock. As such, students who do not have Glenealy winter uniform can wear alternatives, preferably in dark colours.

Notes from the Nurse
- Please be vigilant and check your child's head for lice as there have been a few repeat cases over the past few weeks.
- If your child has a fever, please ensure they stay at home and do not return to school until 24 hours after the fever has subsided.
- Should your child be unwell please keep them home and do not send them to school. Please also ensure they do not come to school to collect their siblings or to 'visit'. This will help to contain any virus or bugs that may be going around.
