Grade Level Change Announcement
You may have received an email from me this week to inform you that you earned enough credits in the Fall to promote to a higher grade level in January. What does this mean?!? In previous years, our policy was that whichever grade students entered in the Fall was the grade they were assigned for the entire school year regardless of how many credits they earned. This year, the policy was changed that if a student has earned enough credits in the Fall, they would be promoted to a higher grade at midyear. We know that so many of our students are working so hard to reach that finish line and believe that this new policy will help to represent their progress more accurately. If you have received an email informing you of this and you have questions, please reach out to me or your counselor so we can explain further. Congratulations to those of you who were advanced in January!

Required Assessments for ALL Students
Complete Midyear Start360 Assessments
All students in 9th-12th grades will take Star360 assessments this year for math and reading. These will be taken in August, January, and May. Additionally, all students will be taking a USA Test Prep assessment in October and March to ensure students are meeting their grade level standards and to simulate state testing. These assessments are required and help our teachers target instruction to meet students’ needs and ensure growth. It is important that students complete these assessments on their own, without assistance from learning coaches or other sources.
Your teachers will also send out information to complete Star360 assessments, but students may begin now to complete them.

Student Resources
of all the programs and platforms ISOK students utilize.
Future of School has established a scholarship program to assist current high school seniors who have completed a minimum of five (5) blended or online courses during their last two years of high school and plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. The 2021 Student Scholarship portal is up and running, accepting applications through March 16. Please use this link for application submissions.
Applicants of Future of School Scholarship Program must:
Be high school seniors (U.S. Citizens) who have completed a minimum of five (5) *blended or **online courses during their last two years of high school and who demonstrate academic achievement or improvement as a direct result of their enrollment in the blended/online learning curriculum.
*The definition of blended learning is a formal education program in which a student learns: (1) at least in part through online learning, with some element of student control over time, place, path, and/or pace; (2) at least in part in a supervised brick-and-mortar location away from home; (3) and the modalities along each student’s learning path within a course or subject are connected to provide an integrated learning experience.
**Online Course – All course activity is done online; there are no required face-to-face sessions within the course and no requirements for on-campus activity. Purely online courses totally eliminate geography as a factor in the relationship between the student and the institution. They consist entirely of online elements that facilitate the three critical student interactions: with content, the instructor, and other students.Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
To be eligible, applicants must have been enrolled in a previously-established online or blended curriculum prior to January 2020, not as a result of distance or hybrid learning due to COVID-19. It important to clarify that this program was not designed to support crisis schooling/remote learning environments.
As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:
A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
A completed Certification Form. (Plan ahead, this form needs to be completed by a school counselor or principal and then uploaded with your application to be able to submit.)
Also as part of your application, one online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 19, 2021 3:00 pm. The recommender should be someone from your high school or college (teacher, counselor, administrator, etc).
Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.

Social Online Sessions and Sharing Contact Information
Insight School of Oklahoma (“ISOK”) students are permitted to share contact information during online social sessions. Sessions are monitored by ISOK staff, but it is the responsibility of the parent to discuss personal family rules and expectations regarding which contact information may be shared with classmates.
Parents are further advised that information and images shared during these social sessions may be available to all users of these sessions and are therefore no longer private. ISOK cannot
guarantee the security of information that is disclosed or communicated online in such sessions, and parents authorize the release of such information at their own risk.
The right to participate in online sessions is a privilege. If, in the sole and exclusive opinion
of ISOK, the conduct of a student warrants the termination of this privilege, a student will be
removed from the social sessions.
