West Irondequoit CSD

December 20, 2021

Dear Families,

This Wednesday and Thursday (Dec. 22-23), we will distribute one free iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test Kit to West Irondequoit CSD families. You'll receive one kit for each child in your household. The Monroe County Dept. of Public Health is providing these kits (they include two tests) to encourage families over holiday break to test their children immediately before gathering with people who do not live in your home. This will help limit the spread of COVID-19.

When should your household use these tests? The two most important times are after a possible exposure to someone with COVID-19 or before you spend time with a vulnerable person, such as an older adult. Keep in mind, test results only show if you have COVID on the day you are tested. So administer them right before gathering with people outside of your household. Read more FAQs from Monroe County at THIS LINK.

We will distribute tests from 2-5 p.m. via a drive-thru (see map below) at 154 Pinegrove Ave. Please bring identification and follow the schedule below based on which school your student(s) attend:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 22: Colebrook, Listwood, Seneca, Iroquois, Dake
  • Thursday, Dec. 23: Briarwood, Brookview, Southlawn, Rogers, IHS

Please note: The kits are only available for students who attend our schools or are special education out--of-district placement. Those families may drive thru either day. If you don’t have transportation and want a kit, please email chuck_miller@westiron.monroe.edu ASAP. You also may want to watch a video demonstration of this particular rapid test below or via THIS LINK. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Chuck Miller via the email above or call (585) 336-6757.
