Collaborative Team Folders
We have sent out the collaborative teams folders. We ask that you place everything we do for collaborative teams this year so we are able to find everything quick and easily. This is very helpful for us as we are trying to remember items from all 7 grade levels!

Device Deployment Schedule
Device Deployment Message
If you have not sent out this information to your families, please do so today.
Device deployment at Hillcrest STEAM Academy will occur on August 26 for students in grades K-6. Students in grades K-5 receive an iPad, while our 6th grade students receive a MacBook.
A technology fee has been applied to your child’s account. This fee includes insurance for the device. The fees will be on a sliding scale, based on free and reduced lunch program status. The structure is as follows:
User Fee iPad MacBook
Regular pay: $30.00 $50.00
Reduced lunch: $20.00 $30.00
Free lunch: $10.00 $20.00
Kindergarten students will begin taking the iPad home 2nd second semester. Therefore, the fee is only half the amount listed above.
Payments can be made online by credit card or in the HSA office by cash or check. All fees must be paid prior to August 26 in order for the student to take the device home. Please contact the office you have any questions.MTSS Reminders
The MTSS Process for Academics:
Here's a link to the process along with the flow chart.
You do the STAR Benchmark with your entire class (Reading or Early Lit & Math).
Look at the Summary Report for your class on the Reading and/or Early Lit Assessment. The "PR" column will show you each student's Percentile Rank. List the students who fall below the 25th percentile.
You do the PAST Screening with each student in your class who falls below the 25th percentile on the STAR and who's GE (grade equivalent) is below 2 (2nd grade). If a child in your class is below 25th percentile but above 2nd grade GE, then you do a DRA to determine needs for tier 1 intervention.
Implement tier 1 intervention in your classroom (and log in STAR) for 4-6 weeks and progress monitor in 4-6 weeks to determine next steps for intervention.
**You only have to do the PAST or DRA with students who score below the 25th percentile on the STAR. However, you can use your professional judgement and screen additional students if you have concerns about those who are slightly above the cutoff.
**Please complete the PAST Screener by September 13th.
You can find links to all of this MTSS information on the BSD Staff page. Go to Curriculum & School Improvement, then click on the MTSS button.
