A Message from Mr. Finkle!
Just an important reminder that the Guidance Department will be hosting a College Planning Part 2 event on Webex TONIGHT, March 18th at 6:30 pm. Login information is posted below.
As many of you are aware, DHS will return to a full-day schedule on Monday, March 22nd. I have heard that there has been some misunderstanding and confusion so I will try to explain it here.
On Monday, March 22nd, all students will be engaged in a full day of classes. This means that school will begin at 7:30 and run through 2:15.
- If your child is a Delaware Hybrid student, he/she will be in school on Mondays and Thursdays and online on Tuesdays and Fridays. Wednesdays will continue to be check-in days until Spring Break.
- If your child is a Rancocas Hybrid student, he/she will be in school on Tuesdays and Fridays and online on Mondays and Thursdays. Wednesdays will continue to be check-in days until Spring Break.
- If your child is a Remote student, either Delaware or Rancocas, he/she will be online from 7:30 - 2:15 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesdays will continue to be check-in days until Spring Break.
Following Spring Break, Wednesdays will no longer be check-in days and will instead be full days!
Rancocas Hybrid students will come into the building for a full day on the following Wednesdays: April 14th, April 28th, May 12th, May 26th, and June 9th.
Delaware Hybrid students will come into the building for a full day on the following Wednesdays: April 21st, May 5th, May 19th, June 2nd, June 16th.
All Remote students will be online on the following Wednesdays: April 14th, April 21st, April 28th, May 5th, May 12th, May 19th, May 26th, June 2nd, June 9th, and June 16th.
All students who attend 4-days per week will attend 5 days a week following Spring Break.
In addition, the following dates have been ear-marked as single-session days for all students:
April 22nd, May 4th, May 20th, and June 1st.
Due to students now coming in for full days, it is imperative that all students CHARGE their Chromebooks the night before they come to school!
As a reminder, our 4th Marking Period begins immediately after spring break on Monday, April 12th. If you are interested in changing your child's cohort from hybrid to remote or remote to hybrid, the deadline to do so is Thursday, April 1st. The 4th marking period will be held with minimal interruptions. Please send me an email to email@example.com with your request as soon as possible. No requests will be honored after this date. Your cooperation is appreciated.
Should you have any questions, please reach out to your child's counselor or Assistant Principal at any time.
The Class of 2021 will have their group pictures taken on TOMORROW, March 19th at 12:00 PM. ALL seniors are to be in attendance as we will only have one day in which to take the pictures. Detailed information is listed below.

STEAM Camp/Academy Registration
Rowan's 2021 Think Like an Entrepreneur Academy
Regardless of intended major, we believe that all future business students, and the organizations that will eventually employ them, benefit from the type of creative mindset, hard work, and initiative that power startups. The program focuses on the development of soft skills - including fostering of an entrepreneurial mindset – and on the development of specific entrepreneurial knowledge and expertise. Academy participants gain the knowledge, mentors, and experiential applications needed to conceive, develop, prototype, and sell their ideas.
Participants will work alongside Rowan University faculty and student leaders to learn the basics of how to transform an idea into a feasible and viable business, while also being exposed to student life on a college campus and the excitement of working with a team toward a common goal.
According to Rohrer College of Business Dean Dr. Sue Lehrman, "It's our expectation that students who participate in Think Like an Entrepreneur will be able to really hit the ground running in their first year at college, wherever they end up going."
Thanks to the generous support of the TD Bank Charitable Foundation, participation in the academy is free and all students who complete the program will earn 3 college credits (equivalent to 1 college course of credit which can be used at Rowan or transferred for credit to another university).
Applications are due by June 1st and the deadline for priority consideration is April 15th. Click here for more information and where students can apply. Please note that a Startup Tree account is needed in order to apply and only takes a few minutes to create.

Mr. Guidotti's Update
A statement from the Burlington County Scholastic League from February 16, 2021:
In acknowledgment of Executive Order No. 220 set forth by the Governor’s Office, the Burlington County Scholastic League will allow two parents/guardians per participating athlete of the HOME SCHOOL to attend all remaining HOME events for the Winter 2020-2021 season. This allowance will not apply to spectators from visiting teams. At this time, spectators from visiting teams will not be permitted to attend any indoor athletic events. Spectators will only be permitted to attend events that their child is participating in.
Spectators will be expected to exit the facility immediately at the conclusion of the event.
Important: Each school district has the discretion to be more restrictive with their own facilities and flexibility to implement a spectator policy that they deem appropriate according to the guidelines of the CDC and the Department of Health.
Home game links can also be found on the DHS athletic schedule in the comments section on the BCSL Athletic website below. For away opponents: check their website, search through YouTube or look at their schedule at BCSL Athletic Schedules.
DHS is excited that spectators are allowed at wrestling matches. In accordance with the Executive Order from the Governor, Delran will allow two parents/guardians for each athlete to attend the match that the athlete is participating in. Passes for the parents/guardians will be given out before the first home match on Friday, March 26th. Delran fans will not be allowed at any away locations.
The DHS Swim team is currently 3-2 and has two weeks remaining in their season. The swim team defeated Gloucester City on March 6th and was able to have Senior Night the next day after the NBC meet. The program is performing well with improving times each day. Their next meet is Thursday, March 18th against Bishop Eustace at Camden Academy Charter.
The DHS Wrestling team is working so hard and is ready for the season to begin. The team is young and hungry to prove that they can compete with any team in our conference.
The DHS Girls’ Wrestling team will have their first match at Kingsway Regional on Thursday, March 18th.
The boys' next match is Friday, March 19th at Haddon Heights. Reminder, spectators will not be permitted at any away matches throughout the season.
