Transparent Solar Panels
Transparent Solar Panels and their Uses in Smart Phones
What are Transparent Solar Panels?
Transparent solar panels are glass or plastic that are coated by a special coating, made from semiconductor materials that emit an electric field when agitated by sunlight that absorb waves from the non visible spectrum of light, such as ultraviolet light.
Practical Uses
Transparent solar panels are a new and emerging technology that could revolutionize power generation forever. They could be used in all kinds of things such as houses and city infrastructure. Instead of massive power generating plants, each home and/or divide could have its own small array without changing the look of the house or item drastically. The solar panels were designed to be placed into smart phones to charge the phone on standby.
Benefits
- In the long run, solar panels are cheaper than using home power every day
- More environmentally friendly
- Reliability; can almost always keep battery form dying
- Transparent and won't affect user experience or display on the screen.
- Helps preserve battery life as well as help recharge
Other Products and Current Methods
Currently, the "competitive" products out on the market are commercial power made by burning coal, natural gas, oil, biofuel, wind, or using a nuclear power plant. The transparent solar panels are the first of their kind, as no other transparent and domestic power generation is available.
Cost
To install a transparent solar panel into a smartphone costs only a nominal amount and a decent amount of space. To manufacture the solar panels is also quite cheap, costing only about ยข20 per cubic centimeter.
