A Thanksgiving Note from the Principal
Dear SPB Families,
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to say THANK YOU to all of our families for sharing the gift of your children with us and for your steadfast support of our school. What a blessing it is for me to see nearly 350 students walk our hallways each day and to have parents who see the value in Catholic education. I have always said that the sense of community that surrounds SPB is what makes it such a special place, and I truly feel blessed and lucky to be a part of it. Thank you for all that you do, big or small, to make SPB a loving and vibrant community of faith, friendship, and love!
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Saint Paschal Baylon Catholic School, I wish you and your families a blessed Thanksgiving filled with God's peace!
Blessings,
Diane Raguz, Principal
We Give Catholic-November 29!
Saint Paschal Baylon Catholic School is participating in #weGiveCatholic, Northeast Ohio’s Online Day of Catholic Giving, on November 29 from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. This year we will be raising money to paint our school hallways! Our hallways haven't been painted since 1998, and they could definitely use a new coat. If you have ever visited our school, you know that we have hundreds of feet of hallway and walls that stretch to nearly 14 feet high. It's a big job....and much needed! Our goal of $45,000 is ambitious, but we know that you can help us reach it! Because of your generosity and the support of many parishioners and alumni last year, we were able to raise $30,000 in one day for new ActivPanels.
We are very excited to share that this year we have a $15,000 MATCHING GIFT offered by an anonymous donor! This match will DOUBLE YOUR GIFT to make an even bigger difference in our fundraising efforts. Help to unlock $15,000 in matching funds by giving to Saint Paschal Baylon Catholic School on November 29! Check out our gift levels below.
Please rally your friends and family and support us on November 29 by visiting www.wegivecatholic.org to make a secure donation online. If you need to make an offline donation instead, please contact the school office. On Giving Tuesday, November 29, follow the leaderboard at www.wegivecatholic.org throughout the day to see SPB progressing towards our goal!

American Red Cross Blood Drive--Sunday, November 27th
Saint Paschal Baylon will be hosting a Blood Drive on Sunday, Nov. 27th , from 8 am to 1:30 pm in the Eymard Room. What better way to give thanks this weekend than by passing along
God’s greatest gift to us . . . the gift of life itself?
Blood donors not only have an opportunity to save someone’s life, they earn grant money for our school as well. The American Red Cross will award $10 in grant funding for each unit of blood we collect at this drive. Power Red donors can double that amount with one double-red cell donation!
All donors are encouraged to make an appointment online at: www.redcrossblood.org
(sponsor code: stpaschal). Walk-ins will be taken if there are open slots in the schedule, but
it’s always best to have a reserved time.
Please come and give blood if you are able. (And very soon, some lucky blood recipient will
be thanking God for you!)

Playground Volunteers Needed-Grades 6, 5, 4
We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:10 am-12:55 pm. There are many, many time slots open! We are so grateful for the help!
Grade 6 families are asked to volunteer in November, Grade 5 families in December, and Grade 4 families in January.
This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:10 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting the students to and from the school doors. Volunteers will be with one school staff member each day to help direct.
Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.
Thank you again for your time and service to the students and teachers of SPB! Simply click on the following links to sign up: Grade 6, Grade 5, Grade 4

Fall Altar Server Training for Second Graders/New Servers
We want you to feel comfortable in this important ministry of service to the church, the altar, and our priests. Sign up for second graders and other grade levels to become an altar server begins on Monday, February 6 after school, with four sessions in church, ending on March 19 installation service at 10:30 Mass. New servers may look to the parish website and train with the special Altar Server Training Video, a college project.
After care will be provided free by Father Lane, who is conducting the training with our deans of altar serving. We are grateful to the parents for giving their children this opportunity that so many of us had when we were in grade & high school to serve at the altar of God. For those youth who are not able to make all the practices or any, please let Father Lane know and you may come on the weekends to “shadow” with a current server for “on-the-job training." To register, please contact Kathryn Mailer, Coordinator: katmailer416@gmail.com
