Board Adopts “Golden Penny”, District to Keep $850,000
Superintendent's Report
-BISD has over 96% student attendance so far this year, with most campuses over that number.
-BISD has moved back into recapture, or "Robin Hood", and will send $3.2 million back to the State.
-BISD students took the Beginning of Year assessment test and student's test scores regressed due to not being in school from March to August.
-To this point, BISD is the only district in our region to take the Beginning of Year assessment test.
-A big factor for BISD starting school on time is to work to help students catch up after months of being outside of the classroom.
-BISD is ahead of many school districts in Region 20 and across Texas by starting school in-person and on-time. This will help student learning.
-Dr. Price commended our BISD Principals for their hard work. He is proud of them leading the district to a great opening of school.
-Dr. Price stated how BISD has been a state-leader since opening back up for the 2020-21 school year.
