BHS Safety Plan
Safety is always a priority for our campuses, and we know enhancing adult presence at BHS will help bring comfort to our students, staff and parents. Below are additional safety measures we have in place beginning Monday and through the remainder of the year:
- Increased number of law enforcement officers on campus (inside and outside)
- Additional staff assigned to common areas for supervision during passing periods and after school
- Staff assigned to monitor restrooms
- Revised pass system for classrooms
- All students arriving to BHS first period will report directly to classrooms - Grab and go breakfast will be available
- BHS's Fort Hood Adopt-A-Unit will be on hand for support
Emotional Support
The emotional well-being of our students is heavy on our minds. Our counseling team is available for all students and staff who need support. Please feel free to contact your child's counselor if you need additional assistance.
Monday's Schedule
To ensure students have the opportunity to see all of their teachers Monday, we will follow this modified schedule. Students will go to all of their classes with the exception of 7th period. Students who attend BHS will be able to shuttle over for their classes. We will resume our A/B schedule on Tuesday with an A day.
Funeral Attendance
Joe's funeral services will be Thursday, May 12, at 2:00PM, at Crossroads Church in Belton. If your child will be attending the service, please email our attendance office at sonia.holleman@bisd.net. Please include your child's full name, ID, and reason for absence in order for it to be excused.
Medication Update
If you student has medications in the clinic, please pick them up by May 25th. Any medications left in the clinic after May 25th will be destroyed.
Additional Download Early Next Week
We will send a second Download early next week with more information about ICE Awards and end of year events.
Summer Learning Opportunity
If you are in need of recovering credits, then Summer Programs is a positive option. Currently, all credits will be recovered through Edgenuity, an online platform. We will offer the ability for students to come to campus for support led by content specific teachers or work from home unless the school requires in person attendance for your student.
We will also be offering P.E. for original credit on Edgenuity with no fee. If you are still in need of a P.E. credit, this is a great option to complete the course over the Summer and open space up in your schedule for other electives. This is for all incoming 9th graders - incoming seniors. If you are unsure if you need PE credit, here is a list of courses where you could earn your credit:
