Dear Parker Middle School Families,
Happy Veterans Day! Thank you to all families who currently serve or who have served in our military. We appreciate you and honor you today.
Yesterday, Assistant Principal Peledge and Parker Leaders, under the direction of Ms. Kim Peterson, held an assembly to honor our veterans. The event included veterans from our school and community along with special guest speaker, Assistant Principal Peledge’s brother, 1LT Jeff Peledge, US Army. The assembly included the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the singing of the National Anthem. We honor all those who serve and who have served, especially those connected to our Parker Middle School Community. Linked here is a slideshow of veterans with a connection to Parker Middle School.
Please see below for more photos of the event.
A few highlights from our PTO - Thank you to families and staff who donated pies to the Reading Adopt-A-Family Program. Your generosity is commendable.
The PTO is also looking for an enrichment coordinator to work with Parker Staff to bring in enrichment activities for students. If you are interested in helping out, email parkerptopres@gmail.com
Please check out the rest of the PTO updates below.
Please consider supporting the Parker Leaders Food Drive. Collections for the drive will continue this week. Please see below for the items students are collecting.
A reminder - There is no school on Friday, Nov. 18. It is a teacher in-service day.
Thank You,Veterans
News from the PTO
📌 The next Parker PTO meeting is Tuesday, December 13 at 7 p.m. at Parker Middle School and via Zoom: https://readingpsma.zoom.us/j/89440949482. All are welcome!
🎉 PTO Shout-out: A big thank you to all of the Parker families and staff who donated pies to the Reading Adopt-A-Family program! Parker is such a generous community of people. In the recent pie sale, 78 pies were donated to Adopt-A-Family for Thanksgiving meals! A huge thank you also goes out to Jessica Kaufman, who coordinated the pie sale.
📌 Check out this fun chart of Parker purchased pies through the pie sale. Is your favorite flavor represented?
📌 Help wanted: Enrichment Coordinator(s)! The PTO has a new role we are looking to fill - an Enrichment Coordinator. This person would work with Parker staff to bring in 2-3 all-school enrichment programs. Last year two programs that visited were Ball in the House and a Berklee jazz ensemble. Could you help? Perhaps grab a friend and share the role! Email us: parkerptopres@gmail.com
📌 If you shop on Amazon, please consider designating the Parker PTO as your Amazon Smile recipient. It’s quick and easy, and the PTO will get a percentage of money donated from your regular online shopping! See below for more info on setting it up using either a web browser or a smartphone.
