Dear Erickson Families,

The MAC Community Walk to raise awareness for pediatric cancer in honor of Michael Carr, a former Erickson student, raised over $5,000 dollars. Thank you to the Erickson Community for supporting such a wonderful event! We plan for this to be an annual event in honor of a special student.

Today was SAFETY DAY. We practiced a variety of safety drills: fire drill, severe weather drill, lockdown drill and bus safety drill. Officer Jaffey from the Police Department, Fire Commander Martin from the Fire Department and the Bus Company all stated positive comments about our students being respectful and responsible. Practicing these drills ensures students know what to do in an emergency.

Don't forget to wear BLUE tomorrow to STOMP out bullying. Classroom teachers will be discussing bullying through a class read-a-loud tomorrow.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, comments, or feedback. The best way to reach me would be via email or phone: or 630-529-2223.

Have a great rest of your week!

Stacy Johnston

Covid Update

Remote Learning Support: Should your child be COVID-19 positive or be a close contact to another person who has been identified as COVID-19 positive would initiate remote learning services (2.5 hours for 1st-5th and 1.25 hours for Kindergarten) during the duration of the absence. The focus will be ELA and Math.

Siblings do not need to quarantine if a family member has symptoms: Siblings are now allowed to stay in school if family members have symptoms related to Covid as long as the symptomatic individual is tested within 24 hours of onset of symptoms.

Covid Dashboard: Erickson will stop sending home the notification of COVID-19 positive cases as they arise. In many cases, this creates unnecessary anxiety for others. A dashboard has been placed on the Return to Learn website to document cases throughout the year and will be updated regularly to provide the most accurate information for the greater community. Click here to access the Covid Dashboard.

Character Counts Pillar Shirts

Every student at Erickson was given a Character Counts Pillar Shirt in 1st grade or when they entered Erickson as a new student. Students do not need this shirt, but are asked to wear their pillar color on Pillar Day (1x per month).

If you are interested in ordering another Pillar Shirt, please fill out this PILLAR SHIRT ORDER FORM and send $10 in a marked envelope "PILLAR SHIRT" with your child. A new Pillar Shirt will be delivered to your child once the money is received. Please fill out one form per child.

If you have questions, please email Mrs. Johnston:

Volunteers to the Building
