Principal's Bulletin
Week 4: September 13-17, 2021
A Message from Mrs. Zagala
I would like to thank you for your continued support during these first three weeks of school. It has been so amazing seeing students and families in the building again.
This past week I was able to spend time with classes for my Monthly Principal Read Aloud. It is my goal each month to read a book with each class. This past week I read "We Will Rock Our Classmates" by Ryan T. Higgins. This is a fun book about a dinosaur named Penelope that wants to share her rock and roll talent with her classmates but is afraid they won't understand that she can be more than just a dinosaur. Not only did I enjoy the time spent with the students reading a great book (one of my favorite things to do), but I was able to get to know the students better and learn more about their talents. I look forward to finding another great book for next month!
As I close out my message for this week, I would like to ask a favor of each of you. As you are in the car line waiting to pick up your child after school I ask that you would avoid blocking the driveways of our neighbors on Dumont. We have many wonderful families that live on our street that are unable to come and go from their homes during dismissal. We thank you for being respectful of them by not blocking their driveways.
Thank you and I look forward to another great week.
Eagles Rock!
Mrs. Zagala

Celebrate Freedom Week: September 13-17, 2021
Each year by federal and state law we have the opportunity to learn about the intent, meaning, and importance of the founding documents of our nation: the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and the United States Constitution. The US Constitution was adopted on the September 17, 1787 which is known as Constitution Day. For this reason, "Celebrate Freedom Week" is celebrated during the week of September 17th in the state of Texas. This year we will celebrate Freedom Week during the week of September 13-17th. During morning announcements and social studies time students will learn more about this important week. We will also celebrate the week with some fun dress up opportunities for our students. Please see the flyer below. Your child is invited to participate in the theme dress up days.

School Service Opportunities
Each year, our district seeks parent volunteers for several unique roles. As a parent, your perspective and input provide helpful insight that assists Northside in making child-centered and family-friendly decisions. Listed in the form below are some unique areas of service with a brief description. If you would be interested in serving in any of these roles, please check your area of interest and complete the information on the form.
