Every Child. Every Day. Whatever it Takes.

Hey FECC Families!

We have been busy learning this week! We are practicing our expectations at FECC, which are Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be a Learner. These are big words for little friends, and they have been thinking about what each word means and what we can each do for each one. The kids love the song below if you want to let them practice at home!

We hope to reschedule our outdoor classroom work day for those of you who are interested in helping. It's awesome to have rain, but we are ready for it to move out for a bit so that we can spend more time outside!

Have an awesome three day weekend! Teachers will be busy tomorrow, participating in district wide professional development! We will see you all on Tuesday!

Meet our ECSE teachers!

Ms. Kara is from Monroe City, Missouri. This is her 8th year as an ECSE teacher and her 6th year at FECC. She moved to Fulton 6 years ago after spending 12 years in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to be closer to her family. She loves the small town feel of Fulton and the downtown brick district. She has a Bachelor's in Ag Science, a masters in Ag leadership, and a masters in teaching, learning, and leadership with an emphasis in special education. Her hobbies are lake life, crafting, being outside, and traveling. Her favorite foods are steak, Mexican food, pizza, snickers, sweet tea, and Dr. Pepper. Her favorite things are her dog Gus, her quarter horses, volunteering as a 4H horse leader, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, and judging horse shows. She loves to shop at Re-Made for a Purpose, Target, and Hobby Lobby. Her passions are teaching and working with youth in the classroom and in the horse arena. She says "I love teaching and working in the classroom. Every day is a new day and I love learning from every child that enters my classroom. I love seeing the success each child has each day whether it is big or small we celebrate! You are able to learn so much from each child and that is the best part of being in the classroom and being a teacher."

Mrs. Knight is in her 3rd year as an ECSE teacher at FECC. She is the head coach of FHS Basketball Cheer, and she teaches Chinese children English when she's not at FECC or Cheer. She loves to read, write and spend time with family and friends in her spare time and she loves the fall season.

This is Mrs. Gorsky's 8th year at FECC. She loves working here because we all really are a family that care about each other and our kids. She earned her Master's of Special Education from Fontbonne University and Bachelor's of Education from Mid America Nazarene University. She also holds certificates in Cross Categorical Special Education and a minor in Art.

Mrs. Gorsky has been married to her wonderful husband, Bill, for 12 years and together they have a son, Eddie who is 11, who also has autism. She is a big advocate for Autism Awareness and Education. She recently moved to a new house in Jefferson City with her family and pets: 2 dogs (Buster and Prince) and 2 cats (Captain Meow and Marshmallow), and loves spending time doing a variety of arts and crafts including crocheting, cross-stitching, painting, drawing, and photography.

Box Tops

We are a Box Tops school! This is one of the best ways for us to raise funds for classrooms. Please send in any Box Tops you have. There is an app that gives tons of Box Tops straight to FEC. All you have to do is download it and scan your receipts. Thank you!!
