MY SCHOOL BUCKS

The first of each month is a good time to check your child's lunch account to make sure it is up to date and adequately funded. Remember that extra entrees can not be charged if there is no money in the account. If you have any questions, contact Amy Hutchins

Town Census

Just a friendly reminder to complete your census and return it town hall. The school uses the census information to plan for the upcoming year.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

This years musical is a really fun one! Did you know that 5th and 6th graders are encouraged to get involved. Rehearsals are on the weekends. Please contact us if you would like your child to be included. This year the performances will be at Smith Academy on April 5th and 6th. Tickets will go on sale soon.

BOKS still has room for more!

Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7:30 to 8:15 in the HES gym. $90.00 Jan - May

Each day students are encouraged to get moving and get ready to learn in a fun, non-competitive environment. Scholarships are available.

FEB 1 Third Grade Movie Night

Third grade parents are encouraged to volunteer to host movie night. This is an easy way to help out the school and spend the evening enjoying a movie with your family. The each student in the grade level that raises the most money at movie night will receive a gift certificate for the Fall Scholastic Book Fair. Please contact your students teacher if you are able to help out for an hour or two.

FEB 8 Grinspoon Award Nominations

The Hatfield Public Schools District is once again participating in the Pioneer Valley Excellence in Teaching Awards Program, an annual award which honors outstanding educators in Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties for their commitment and impact on children in their schools. Students, parents and guardians, and any other interested parties, can nominate educators from their school district who meet the criteria. Nominees can be teachers of various subjects and at all grade levels, as well as counselors and nurses, who demonstrate professionalism and excellence through teaching practices, professional development, collaboration, cooperation and community outreach. Recipients will receive a plaque, $500 in cash, tuition reimbursement for courses at area colleges, 3 month membership to the YMCA or Jewish Community Center. Award winners will also be honored at a banquet at the Log Cabin on May 15th. The deadline for submitting nominations is no later than 2 pm on Friday, February 8, 2019. NOMINATION FORM

FEB 16 - FEB 24 Winter Vacation

This is a good time to clean out lockers and backpacks. It is also a good time to check the lost and found.

FEB 23 HEF Mystery Dinner Theater 6:00

Preschool Registration

Returning students will receive registration forms when we return from February vacation. New student registration will be available the last two weeks of March. If needed, a lottery will be held the first week in April.

Mar 1 ....second marking period ends

Marks close on March 1st.

Report Cards go home on March 14th.

School starts at 8:15 and ends at 2:30

The mornings are dark and it's so nice and warm under the covers BUT we all still need to be on time for school. Missing even 5 minutes puts kids behind for the day. Our doors open at 8:05 each morning.

Sometimes time gets away from us and we realize we are going to be late. Please call the office if you are running late for pick up. If you are not here by 2:38, your child will be waiting in the office.

MCAS schedule for planning purposes

April 23 - May 2 Grades 3-6 will take the ELA MCAS

May 14 - May 23 Grades 3-6 will take the Math MCAS & grade 5 will take the Science MCAS
