2021-22 Family-School Partnership Survey
Dear Myersville Elementary Families,
Myersville Elementary invites you to participate in our school's 2021-22 Family-School Partnership Survey. While the survey is voluntary, your feedback is important to us! Your responses will remain anonymous and will be combined with the responses of other families.
To access the survey online, go to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Family-SchooPart2021-22
Important: If you have more than one child enrolled in FCPS, please complete one survey per child.
If you require a paper survey, please contact front office staff at 240-236-1900.
The survey will remain open until Friday, February 25 at 11:59pm EST.
We thank you in advance for your feedback!
Applying for an Out-of-District Transfer
The FCPS Department of Student Services is now receiving requests for transfers to schools outside of a student's home attendance district for the 2022-2023 school year. Requests to transfer from a student's home school district must be made by parents/legal guardians. Guidelines for requests are outlined in FCPS Regulation 400-15.
Parents/guardians must apply for an out-of-district transfer annually. Therefore, if your child is currently attending a school out of your attendance district, you must complete and submit an application if you would like to request that your child remain at that school.
If a school's enrollment is over capacity, it is necessary to restrict out-of-district student transfers to those schools. This includes students whose daycare providers are located outside their assigned attendance area.
Please click here to see school enrollment information: 2022-2023 FCPS Enrollment Projections and Closed Schools
Out-of-district requests submitted as the result of school redistricting by the Board of Education may be denied.
Parents or guardians who wish to request an out-of-district transfer for the 2021-2022 school year must apply by completing an out-of-district application. The applications are available in English and Spanish. The application can also be found online at http://www.fcps.org under the "For Families and Students" tab. The application window is open until March 1, 2022. Families will be notified of the decision by April 1, 2022.
If you need assistance, please call (240) 236-2493 or email outofdistrict@fcps.org.
Student Absences
A note stating the reason for absence or lateness is required upon the student’s return, or the absence is automatically classified as unlawful until an approved note is provided. FCPS Regulation 400-98 mandates that a school letter be mailed when a student accumulates 3 days of unlawful absences in any marking term. These letters were sent from MYES this week.
Anytime your child will be absent from school, please either send in a handwritten note or you can email MYES.Attendance@fcps.org. If you'd like to include your child's teacher in the email as a courtesy, it would be appreciated.
PTA News
The Little Mermaid Production will be splashing its way into the hearts of MYES students in the Spring of 2022.
Have a child who has expressed a last minute interest in auditioning for the MYES PTA Play, but missed the Parent Information Meeting? No worries! Email myesplay2022@gmail.com to retrieve a Parent Information Packet. This will include the Performer Information Sheet and Code of Conduct form which needs to be submitted prior to audition dates of February 23rd and 24th. These forms can be submitted back to myesplay2022@gmail.com, left with Ms. Marsha in the front office or bought with your child on their audition date.
JUST A REMINDER to all parents who have retrieved the Parent Packet, please do not forget to submit your child's Performer Information Form and The Code of Conduct form prior to those audition dates. We will gladly accept them now!
Looking forward to seeing your children at the auditions!

Weather Days
Frederick County Public Schools has three inclement weather days remaining built into the 2021-22 school year. If inclement weather prompts FCPS to close, it will be a traditional snow day and a virtual option will not be used.
While FCPS utilized virtual learning during the early stages of the global health crisis, this year we will work toward instituting systemwide virtual learning and evaluate the viability of a virtual option for inclement weather days if all available inclement weather days are used.
How can the community find out about inclement weather decisions?
The FCPS Office of Public Affairs swiftly communicates inclement weather decisions as soon as they are made using a variety of communications tools:
- FCPS social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)
- FCPS.org
- FCPS Find Out First text messages and emails
- FCPS Cable Channel 18
Local and regional media are also alerted.
What are the fastest ways to find out about inclement weather closures?
Our FCPS Maryland social media channels are usually the first to have updates about closures and delays. FCPS.org and FCPS Cable Channel 18 are also quickly updated. It can take up to 30 minutes for FCPS to alert our media partners and for a FindOutFirst message to get published.
We encourage families to sign up for text message alerts via Find Out First. Text messages are only sent in case of an emergency or in case of inclement weather closure or delay notifications. To sign up for text messages, visit www.fcps.org/fof, log in, and add a cell phone number in the profile. Text messages are distributed faster than email messages.
To reduce the number of close contacts and potential exposure, parents will not be allowed to visit in the lunchroom. We will monitor health metrics and school data and share when this restriction can be lifted.
