COLLEGE TOURS FOR HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELORS

This spring semester Mrs. Leja and Mrs. Becker spent some time participating on college tours for high school counselors. Mrs. Leja spent a few days at West Virginia University and Mrs. Becker at the University of Texas-Dallas. Counselors participate in these tours to bring back information to their colleagues and students about the colleges they visit, to collaborate with other school counselors around the United States and to build relationships with admissions officers.

FALL 2018 - COLLEGE ADMISSIONS REP VISITS

During the first semester of the school year, many colleges send admissions representatives to visit our school. At these times, all 11th and 12th grade high school students have an opportunity to talk in small groups with representatives from the visiting colleges. Since these conferences are time-consuming students should be selective in choosing them; otherwise, they may be neglecting their classwork. Military representatives also visit frequently and are available through individual requests.

Parents and students are kept informed of these visits in numerous publications. In the fall, we will be using Naviance to let students know of these visits.

IMPORTANT: Students should check their student email and login to Naviance regularly during the school year to keep abreast of upcoming events.
