The first day of school is Monday, August 29, 2022. All students will report to their grade level teacher. This will be a full day of school for grades 1- 5.
K4 and K5 students are dismissed at 11:00 AM on August 29, 30, 31 and September 1. K4 and K5 will begin full days of school beginning Tuesday, September 6.
As always, communication is important. Please do not hesitate to contact a principal, school counselor, or teacher with any questions or concerns. You are a valued member of the Northwest Community, and we look forward to continuing to working with you throughout the school year.

Northwest’s three school expectations for students include the following:
• Be Responsible (of others, the environment, and ourselves)
• Be Respectful (for our actions)
• Be Safe (keep hand, feet, and objects to ourselves)
Address or Phone Number Changes
It is a recommended procedure by the Pennsylvania Department of Education that, in the event of a change of address, confirmation of the new address is required before information can be updated/changed. Confirmation of address may include a utility bill or a copy of the lease. If you are residing with someone else, we will provide you with a Residency Affidavit that will need to be signed and notarized.
Please submit all information regarding address changes to the Northwest Office. Accurate information on your child is vital in the event of an emergency! Office personnel will be happy to assist with any questions you may have at 717-270-6800.

Home Reading begins Monday, October 17!
This year, your child will be doing lots of reading in school and at home. Students who read for one hour every day, from books they can read and want to read, have a much better chance for success in school and beyond. We need your help in building your child’s independent reading stamina! Every night your child will read books, have their reading folder, and a log sheet in a blue book bag. We are requesting your support in making at home reading fun by doing these five actions each day with your child.
Books foster knowledge within our children and knowledge is power! Thank you for being a partner with us in your child’s education!
