Mrs. Hafiza's Class

This Week....

We have been seeing yellow everywhere! The children had a "lemon bakery" in our creative play area where we baked all things lemon and yellow! We explored branches from a lemon tree, we felt them, touched them, smelled them, and examined them under a magnifying glass. The children drew and painted beautiful still life pictures of Gerber Daisies, we also painted big yellow paintings on the easel. We practiced cutting lines, and learned how to count using one to one correspondence. It was a very busy week.

Next week...

We will begin talking about farms as we head into fall and get ready for our field trip to the pumpkin farm! We will start by talking about what and who lives on a farm. We plan o painting animals, making farm word books, and playing with a farm house. We will also be talking about the color green and rectangles. For sharing please have your child bring in two pictures, one of something that is living that you would find on a farm and one of something that is not living and found on a farm. Please let me know if you have any questions about this.

Important dates....

Our pumpkin patch field trip is coming up soon! We will be going to the Mc Grath Street Pumpkin Patch on October 13th. Our appointment is at 9:30 so we plan on meeting there at 9:15.
