Weekly Update
August 8th, 2023
January 29- February 2, 2024
Message From the Principal
I know establishing a routine since returning from Winter Break has been hard with all of the snow days. Please take some time over the weekend to check out your students grades and missing assignments. Students with missing assignments were all given a printed sheet that listed all of their missing work. It is important that students are staying up on their work and turn their assignments in when they are due.
We will have our monthly celebration on Thursday February 1st which means the cut off to earn the monthly celebration is 3:25 on Tuesday January 30th. No assignments will be accepted after Tuesday in order to qualify for the monthly celebration, as a reminder this semester we are focusing on responsibility below are the requirements to earn monthly celebration.
- No F's
- No more than 5 missing assignments
- No more than 2 visits to the office
- Can't have more than 3 tardies
- Can't have more than 3 iPad write-ups
Don't forget to sign up for ASAP if your child is needing some extra help or time to complete their work. This 9 weeks we will be able to offer it 4 days a week to help students get caught up on missing assignments and get extra assistance and homework they might not understand.
The after school program is offered from 3:30-4:30pm.
Monday- Mrs. Kahler
Tuesday- Mrs. Clark
Wednesday- Mrs. Patterson
Thursday- Mr. Hicks (Mr. Baker's student teacher)
If you would like your child to stay please fill out the form below.
Attendance
If your child is out sick or is going to be absent you MUST call the office by 9am in order for the absence to be excused. If your child has been out sick for 3 or more school days in a row on the 3rd day of being out sick we must have a doctors note in order for the absence to be excused. Regular attendance in school is important for children's learning and their success. If you are struggling with getting your child to school please reach out so we can work together to create a plan.

Available Clothing Items
It has been a cold start to the Semester! We have had an influx of donated coats, hats and winter clothes. If your student is in need of any of these items please don't hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Schrader. We have items in both genders in various sizes!
Career Unit
We will spend the next several weeks in our school-wide career unit! Students in grades five through eight will be doing various activities in career exploration. The students will use a website called Xello to guide their exploration. Here is video that the students watched this week to learn more about the benefits of Xello. XELLO INTRODUCTION VIDEO
I would encourage you to have a conversation with your student about the journey you took to your current job. Did you always know what you wanted to do? Did you change your mind? How did you get to the job you're currently doing?
Congratulations to the School Spelling Bee Champs and Runners-Up
Abby Downing and June Klenk will move on to the County Spelling Bee on February 21st. If the Champs can't make it the Runners-Up Baylee Skahan and Nate Woerner will step in.
Students and Staff of the Week
This year the Leadership class has decided to change how student and staff awards are given. This will be done twice a month, with 1 boy and 1 girl winning from each grade level. One week we will have girl winners and one week we will have boy winners. The leadership class was able to get some Gift Card donations from local businesses to add to the award gift package.
