Monday-March 20th- Student Holiday
Dear Parents,
We would like to take this time and wish you all a Very Happy Spring Break Holiday. Everyone has been working so hard this semester and we are all ready for this much needed break. We hope your family has a great time making some great Spring Break memories. Take time to relax, recharge and enjoy your time together.
We all know that when we return from Spring Break, we will be pushing into our final nine weeks of school. This time of year brings about excitement and some anxiety. Please take a little time this break talking with your child about a couple things. We are experiencing more and more discipline referrals coming from the classrooms and the lunchroom in reference to disrespect, disruption and willful disobedience. Please review with your child the School Board Policies on Discipline (School Board Policy #5600) and Dress Code (School Board Policy #5511) along with the Student Code of Conduct.

School Garden Project Updates
• Potato Towers – Green leaves are multiplying as the potatoes continue to grow! Once the leaves turn brown the potatoes will be ready to harvest!
• Cabbage Weigh Off
The cabbages continue to amaze us as they are growing to epic proportions! The fact that these cabbages were started from tiny seeds planted by our very own Gemini students is incredible! Cabbage weigh-off to follow spring break.
• Worm Farm - Worms, worms & more worms! Three farms have been started. 1rst, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Grades were able to see the worm farm presentation and learn all about the benefits of composting food waste & paper with worms. You can imagine the variety of reactions from students as a ball of 500 worms was pulled out of the bag Willing participants were able to hold, touch, and name the worms while learning how to be good worm caretakers. All worm castings and liquid from the farms is being used as natural fertilizer in the garden. Students will have the opportunity to care for the farms on Green Thumb Thursdays.
Volunteers: Thank you to the few consistent volunteers helping with the gardens! PLEASE NOTE: For Students from each grade to continue to participate in the garden on Green Thumb Thursdays, parent volunteers will be required to contribute 1 to 3 hours per week for each grade. (See Sign Up Genius Link below).
There are now 3 gardens to water and maintain: Big Garden on North side of school, Mr. Meisenburg’s Music Garden, and the Kindergarten Garden.
Volunteer Opportunities Include:
