The answer is: NO, The Grimm brothers preserved fairytales, they did not write them.
Were the fairytales meant for kids or adults?
Even though these fairytales were very violent and gruesome, they were meant for kids. They were written to teach kids a lesson.
When and where were the brothers born? When did they die?
Wilhem passed away on December 16, 1859 and was born on February 24, 1786. Jacob died on September 20, 1863. He was born on January 4, 1785. Both of the brothers were born in Hauna, Germany.
Where did the brothers go to school?
Both brothers attended the Gymnasium in Kassel, Germany.
Is there any monument put up in their honor?
There is a fairytale monument put up in their honor. This monument is located where the brothers used to play as young children.
Did the brothers have any other jobs besides writing?
After fairytales the brothers pursued languages and wrote a German dictionary. They were also lawyers and librarians.

Jacob and Wilhelmina Grimm were the sons of Philipp Grimm. Out of all of their siblings they survived the longest. The total number of kids was 9.
