Growing Populations

The population in Peru is growing at a healthy 99%. The country has an average life expectancy of 71.23 years for males and 75.33 years for females. Improved drinking water sources and sanitation facility access is helping the country be safer and more inviting. There is negative migration number so people are choosing to stay in Peru, which shows the changes Peru is making. With a birthrate of 18.57 births per 1,000 populations and a death rate of only 5.99 deaths per 1,000 populations it is clear that Peru’s population growth will continue growing strong.

Growing Population, Growing Problems

While the population growth of Peru and the rest of the country is generally seen as a positive thing, it can also have devastating affects on the environment. While we should become more aware of how to grow with the environment, the human race has a tendency to look at our lives with tunnel vision. More people means more goods needed, more food needed, and more land needed and all of these are directly affecting the Amazon Rainforest.
