Dear HRMS Families,


This newsletter has information on Orientation Week, The HRCSD Secondary Schools Welcome and Safety Video, a recording of our Family Information Night, and this week's Principal’s Chat.


Orientation Week

We are very excited to welcome the kids back to school after spring break! Our students are receiving instructions this week on what to do when we return to school for orientation the week of March 29-April 2. We are keeping this information brief and will teach them the detailed information in person. Here is what you need to know (please watch the Family Information Night video for more information);


6th Graders will start their orientation on Monday, March 29 (and continue on 3/30 and 3/31)


7th Grade Orientation will be Thursday, April 1


8th Grade Orientation will be Friday, April 2


  1. All Students will report to the football field (rain or shine) on their first day between 8:45-9:00 AM.

  2. Each advisory teacher will be on the field with a sign. Students will line up 6 feet apart.

  3. At 9:00 AM each advisory teacher will lead their group to the identified entrance for our check-in procedure.

  4. A celebration/welcome designed by teacher or team

  5. Safety Procedures will be a focus of this first day.

  6. A brief tour of the campus with the students classroom locations and behavior expectations will follow.

  7. Student dismiss is at 11:00 AM to the nearest exit.

  8. Students can return home by walking/biking, riding the bus, or receiving a ride from their family.

  9. Online instruction will continue in the afternoon for the entire week for all students.


Please note that ALL students should attend orientation (there will be no 4/5ths requirement)
