March Madness Continues
March Madness is in full swing! From hula hooping and basketball shootouts, to Twitter battles, Jenga games, checkers matches, and dance-offs, students have been going head-to-head, and RED-TO-WHITE to nab points for their teams! We still have about three weeks left until the big finale, so keep up the awesome work! Remember, your attendance at school events counts for team points. Follow #LHSMadness on Twitter. When sharing on Twitter, please use the hashtag (#) for your team and tag #LHS Madness for all Red and White activities.

Reinaissance
On Friday, March 18th, two Renaissance assemblies will be offered to students who have met the criteria of 2.5+ GPA, no discipline, and no unexcused tardies. If you have qualified you will be issued a pass to attend.
There will be a special guest speaker at both assemblies!
Movie Night
The Arts & Humanities Academy will be running a “movie night” fundraiser on Friday, March 18th from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the LHS auditorium. We will be watching the awesome political action movie “V for Vendetta.” Food will be sold before and during intermission. The cost of the ticket is $6.00 or $5.00 if you bring an old pair of jeans to be recycled. Come dressed as your favorite anti-hero! There will be a prize for the best dressed.
You must be 17 or older with a driver’s license or proper identification (school IDs do not count). If you are under 17 years old, you must have permission form signed by a parent or guardian when you pay for your ticket. Check your .info account for the permission form.
Cardinal Jeopardy
Student teams of three will compete against one another, demonstrating wit and wisdom in a broad range of topics from sports to entertainment to chemistry to world geography and beyond. Teacher Teams will compete in their own separate round. The highest scoring student teams will compete against each other for the overall Cardinal Jeopardy Championship in Final Jeopardy! Ticket proceeds will be donated to the Homefront Children’s Summer Program.
Rehearsal: Monday, March 21st from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Event: Tuesday, March 22nd at 7:00 p.m. (Auditorium)

* MOVERS AND SHAKERS *
LHS Students Make "History"
On Saturday, March 5th, five LHS students participated in the New Jersey Regional History Day competition (www.nhd.org) at Princeton University, presenting papers, exhibits, and documentaries in the Senior Division (grades 9-12). These students are our first ever high school-level entrants from Lawrence!
Andrew Sam (paper), Rhea Pathak (documentary), Anis Chihoub (exhibit), and Anusha Aggarwal, and Cassidy Stoneback (group exhibit) showed tremendous interest, motivation, and dedication to competing in this event. Aggarwal, Stoneback, and Chihoub also advanced to the state level of competition, which will take place on May 7th at William Paterson University!
Congratulations to those who participated and good luck to those moving on to the next level!
Gow Grabs Five Awards
Congratulations to Junior James Gow for his FIVE wins at the Mercer County Science and Engineering Fair on Tuesday, March 15th!
James' project, "Testing Valproate and Surfanct Regulation as Potential Therapeutics for Nitrogen Mustard-Mediated Lung Injury in Wistar Rats," also earned him an invitation to compete at this year's Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix, AZ in May.

Conferences will be held on Wednesday, April 20th from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Lifeguards Needed
We are looking for certified lifeguards that have a study hall/out to lunch in their schedule and would like to get paid $10 a hour to lifeguard the LHS pool during PE classes.
If you are interested and already have your lifeguarding/CPR certification, please email Ms. Fischer (afischer@ltps.info) with the period you are interested in lifeguarding.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame...
The Music Department is taking over the Trenton Thunder on April 7th! Come out to the stadium for Opening Day and support the Band and Choirs. Tickets are $10 for LTPS students and faculty and can be purchased in advance through the Music Department.

DECA Volleyball Tournament
DECA Volleyball is coming on Thursday, April 14th, from 6:30-9:00 p.m.! A $5 fee will be charged for each player, with a max of six players to a team. Registration forms can be picked up at the Student Store during lunch periods or in Room 131. All money and registration forms are due to Ms. Schneck by Monday, April 11th.
