ATTENDANCE

In accordance with the Minnesota Compulsory Instruction Law, Minn. Stat. 120A.22, the students of the school district are REQUIRED to attend all assigned classes every day school is in session. It is the responsibility of the district administration to determine if a student’s absence has a valid excuse or not. All schools are required to observe the MN Compulsory School Attendance Laws. The following procedures should be followed when a student is absent from school.

  • A parent or guardian should call the office (218-562-6110) on the day of the absence.

  • ALL ABSENCES THAT ARE NOT REPORTED WITH A PHONE CALL TO SCHOOL WILL BE CONSIDERED “UNEXCUSED.”

  • A phone call does not guarantee that the absence will be marked as excused as some absences do not meet criteria to be excused by school officials.
