Cougar Ed Fund Meeting
The first Ed Fund meeting of the year is on Wednesday, Sept 20 in the Science Room (straight through the main breezeway, just past the library) at 7pm. All are welcome!
Our annual Jogathon is scheduled for early November, but we are still looking for a chairperson to coordinate the event. This fundraiser typically raises approximately $15,000 for our school. Unfortunately, without a chairperson, the fundraiser will be canceled. If you are interested, please contact Heather Pace at countryclub.edfund@srvef.org.
Interested in helping with the Auction? Andrea Mahoney is asking for any/all volunteers to attend an Auction Committee meeting on Wed 9/13 at 7pm. Meeting will be in portable 41 (Upper blacktop area). See you there!
Wacky Wednesday Snack Bar
Cougar Ed Fund's Wacky Wednesday is back in business! Join us every Wednesday at 12:50 for purchase and enjoy some fun snacks! No cash accepted — students must have a Wacky Wednesday punch card. Find more info and purchase at: cces.futurefund.com/store
We’re looking for parent volunteers to help at the snack bar. Please email Heather at countryclub.edfund@srvef.org if you’re interested. Thank you!

Volunteer Requirements - TB Clinics
Dear SRVUSD Community,
Further to the information we shared in summer about parents/caregivers who want to be SRVUSD volunteers, we are pleased to announce that SRVUSD has partnered with John Muir Health to provide three TB clinics in the upcoming weeks. At these clinics, John Muir medical professionals will ask volunteers the questions from this Tuberculosis (TB) Risk Assessment Questionnaire, which is an alternate way to fulfill the TB requirement instead of having an injection or chest x-ray. The risk assessment at these clinics is free for all volunteers.
Please review this important information before determining which clinic you will attend:
You do not need to be a John Muir medical member to participate in a clinic. Whether you have Kaiser, no insurance or some other insurance, all are welcome! .
The option of the Tuberculosis (TB) Risk Assessment Questionnaire will be provided on all three clinic dates. We highly recommend you review the risk assessment questions (page 1) ahead of time.
If you believe you will need a skin test based on the risk assessment questions, you must attend the clinic on September 11th, and return for the clinic on September 13th for the skin test results to be read.
If you believe you will need a skin test completed on September 11th, you must plan to bring $30.00 cash, check, or money order (made payable to SRVUSD) to pay for the skin test.
If you do not have the means to pay for a skin test, please reach out ahead of the September 11th clinic to your school Principal.
If you believe you will need a chest x-ray to show proof of negative TB, please go to your medical provider or to one of these community providers.
The dates, times, and locations of the three John Muir Health clinics are listed below. You do not need to make an appointment, and you do not need to go to the clinic if you have already provided proof of TB clearance:
September 7: 4:00-6:00 p.m. @ Los Cerros Middle School Professional Development Center (Risk Assessment only); 968 Blemer Rd., Danville
September 11: 4:00-6:00 p.m. @ Dougherty Valley High School Main Gym (Risk Assessment & Skin Test Injection); 10550 Albion Rd., San Ramon
September 13: 4:00-6:00 p.m. @ Iron Horse Middle School MPR (Risk Assessment & Test Results Read from Sept. 11 only); 12601 Alcosta Blvd., San Ramon
We value your support and willingness to volunteer at SRVUSD schools, and we thank you for your shared commitment to the success and safety of all students. Please reach out to Tami Castelluccio in Educational Services at tcastelluccio@srvusd.net with any questions.
Handbook Highlights
Our 23-24 updated version of our Family Handbook is available on our website. Click here to access it as well. In each newsletter, we will highlight a section of the handbook. We are also highlighting different sections of the handbook in the classroom and during lunchtime for students.
Our highlight for this week:
Arrival
● Students should arrive no earlier than 7:45 AM as there is no supervision before then. Students
will be asked to wait in the office if they arrive earlier than 7:45 AM.
● Students may play on the blacktop from 7:45 AM until the first bell rings at 7:58 AM.
● Upon the bell, line up at your classroom and wait quietly for your teacher.
● Use the crosswalks when coming to school. Do not walk through the parking lot.
● Students arriving after 8:00 AM need to go to the office for a welcome slip before going to class
to be counted as present for the day.
Dismissal
● Be sure your child knows who they are going home with each day, and whether they are
walking or being picked up by car.
● Students going to Kids Country/Right at School go to the program location to check-in with staff.
● Students attending an after-school enrichment class should meet their instructors in the
designated location.
● Use the sidewalks and crosswalks when leaving school. Do not walk through the parking lot.
● It is our expectation that students will be picked up promptly. Notify the office for emergency
situations when you will be unexpectedly late for pick up.
● Classrooms will not be opened after the teacher has left the school at the end of the day.
Items from Home
Items from Home
● Dangerous items such as knives, matches, toy guns, or other sharp instruments (including ‘Swiss
Army’ knife types) are not permitted on campus.
● Toys, games, and athletic equipment should be left at home to avoid loss and/or breakage. This
includes trading cards. If these are brought to school for after-school use, they are to remain in
student backpacks at all times during the school day.
● Cell phones are permissible at school. During the school day they must remain in the student’s
backpack in the off or silent mode. Cell phones are not to be used during the school day without
staff permission. Watches that have texting and calling capabilities can be worn during the day,
however, they should also not be used during the school day. If the watch becomes an issue,
students will be asked to put them in their backpacks. Parents call the office to contact students.
● Parents, please refrain from trying to contact your student via their device during the day. Please
call the office if you need to get a message to your student or check on a student.
Still time to Register your Student and Donate!
At the beginning of each year, we ask families to register their students through our school registration website, Future Fund. Click here to access the site. Click "registration" to start the registration process. Through this process, you can learn about the different programs at Country Club and make donations to support them. As a school, we do not publish a supply list. All teachers ordered supplies for students, so they all had what they needed from the first day. We can only do this with your donations! So far this year, we have received donations from less than half of our families. Please consider donating to ensure your students get the supplies and programs they need this year!
