Friendship in Frankenstein

Views of Victor and The Creature
Victor: "We are unfashioned creatures, but half made up, if one wiser, better, dearer than ourselves- such a friend ought to be- do not lend his aid to perfectionate our weak and faulty natures. I once had a friend, the most noble of human creatures, and am entitled, therefore, to judge respecting friendships." (Pg. 27, Ch. 2) In this quote from Victor he is saying how he used to have a friend but lost him. Also he is talking about how the creation of the creature he lost everything.
The Creature: "Here, then, I related and lay down happy to have found a shelter, however miserable, from the inclemency of the season, and still more from the barbarity of man." (Pg. 88, Ch. 11) In this quote the creature is talking about how happy he is to have found a shelter to live in. Also he says how he is still alone and away from humans who had treated him horribly.
Victor: "Know that, one by one my friends were snatched away; I was left desolate." (Pg. 175 , Ch. 23) In this quote Victor is talking about how the creature is killing all of his friends and how sad he is. Then he talks about being alone with no more friends because they are all dead.
The Creature: "Must I then lose this admirable thing? I have longed for a friend, I have sought for one who would sympathize with and love me." (Pg. 188, Ch. 24) This quote is a good representation of friendship because it is the creature talking about how he really wants a friend that he can talk to. The creature lives a lonely life where he only looks for a friend.
My Thoughts on Friendship
I feel that everybody should have a friend. When Victor created the creature that was his new friend. Bu then Victor was terrified of the creature and ran away from him. The creature then became very lonely and spent most of his time looking for a friend. Both Victor and the creature had different views on what friendship should be like. Victor had friends before the creature killed them and he ended up being alone. The creatures main goal was to find a friend and ended up dying alone.
I agree with the creature that Victor shouldn't have left him after creating him. Victor should have kept the creature and basically raised him and taught him the proper ways to live. When Victor ran from the creature that sealed his deal on the creature growing up improperly and causing havoc on everyone. One stat I read was that those who had more friends over a nine year period cut their risk of death by over sixty percent.
