Rockbrook - Oakdale STEAM Night, October 11th

Don't miss this exciting chance for your child to experience and explore opportunities in S.T.E.A.M.! Our fun STEAM NIGHTS (Science Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics) are back this year. Hosted at Oakdale Elementary these fun evenings have been a big success in past years and we hope you'll join us!

The Book Fair is Coming!

It's Book Fair time and a great opportunity to get good books at good prices! Reward your young scholar for their hard work this quarter by stopping in during conferences.

Book fair hours will be:

Mon, Oct 15: 3:30-8:00

Tue, Oct 16: 8:00-4:00

Wed, Oct 17: 3:00-8:00

Thu, Oct 18: 8:00-10:00

Students need to be accompanied by an adult when attending the Book Fair outside of school hours. If you will not be able to stop in during conferences, your child may come down to purchase with teacher permission on the 16th or 18th.

Teachers will also have wish lists available for those interested in donating books to their child's current and former classrooms.

Thanks to the Rockbrook Community Club and our Book Fair volunteers for coordinating and operating this great opportunity for our kids!

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Your child should have recently brought home a scheduling invitation for Parent-Teacher Conferences. These important opportunities give us the chance to work together for the success of every child at our school. Please return this to your child's teacher indicating if the requested time works or if another time would need to be scheduled. Fall Conferences are October 15th and 17th

Dining Out for Education

Each week Rockbrook partners with a local restaurant as part of our Dining Out for Education program. As part of this program, businesses give back a percentage of your purchase to the school when you mention that you are with Rockbrook Elementary on our designated nights. In addition, Dining Out Nights offer families a chance to connect with each other and with friends as part of our Rockbrook Community. Linked with today’s email is our calendar of Dining Out Partners. We’ve tried to offer a variety of locations, foods, and opportunities in the hopes that families can find an option that appeals to them.

Our next Dining Out for Education Event is Raising Cains Chicken Fingers at 108th and Q, Tuesday, October 9th.

Hy-Vee Receipts

Please save your Hy-Vee receipts from September 1-December 31 to help Rockbrook

School fund educational needs. Hy-Vee will donate $1.00 for every $200 Hy-Vee receives

in receipts. This is not only for groceries but Hy-Vee gas receipts also. Every penny counts and can add up to thousands of dollars. So tell your friends, neighbors, relatives to save Hy-Vee receipts. It's simple and easy! Simply bring all Hy-Vee receipts to Rockbrook School and deposit them into the HyVee red bucket located in the school lobby. Please write your student's teachers name and grade on the receipt. The class who has collected the highest dollar amount in receipts will receive a special prize party. Thank you all for participating in this easy

and simple fundraiser.

Fall Box Tops Due - October 26th

We need your Box Tops. Please turn in all box tops collected this fall for counting and entry. The Box Tops for Education program provides 10¢ for each clip turned in, offering important support for our Community Club and the great programs they sponsor at Rockbrook. Box Tops can be turned in to your teacher or to the front office. Be sure to include your teacher's name with your submission.

Who Ya Gonna Call?

When calling to make arrangements for your child it’s important that the right people get the right message. If calling to inform us of decisions that will impact your child’s school day (8:30-3:30) please call our main office at 402-390-6475. If you are calling to make changes to before and after care, it is also important to contact the Club66 Staff at 402-390-8208. Finally, it’s always appreciated if you email your child’s teacher if you will be picking them up during the day as this helps them prepare any work your child may need.
