Junior High Cookbook
This was a fabulous project led by your junior high team!
We can't wait to hear if you like your recipes. We do have some extra cookbooks if you would like to support our junior high. All funds raised will purchase a curricular item for our older students.
Information Update
In the next few weeks, you will be receiving an electronic information update form. This form will ask you once again if you intend to return and will allow you to update your information for the upcoming 2021-22 school year. We moved to this electronic system last year and it is very simple as it pre populates all information for you.
And, on that note, we have opened our application for new families and students. Please send everyone you know to St. Damian! Post the link on your Facebook page!
And, if you have a child who is not yet a Lancer and you would like to enroll him/her, please fill out the application.

News From The Oak Forest Police Station
The City of Oak Forest has changed the platform for reverse 911 calling and has migrated to the Everbridge system. In an effort to inform residents of important events and emergencies occurring in the city, the city is attempting to reach out to all parents and or guardians of Oak Forest students to have them sign up for this service .
This service is free and replaces a system that was costly to the Oak Forest taxpayers. The city is asking all Oak Forest school districts to disseminate the information attached to parents/guardians of students.
This system will be utilized in case of emergencies involving schools, lock downs and other critical incidents to notify residents and parents of your students. A separate notification has been sent out to residents in all water bills this month. The city realizes that not all residents and parents/guardians of students receive water bills based on what type of housing they currently reside in. A significant number of Oak Forest students reside in apartment complexes which do not receive individual water bills.
This notification is not specific to Oak Forest residents as we recognize that several school districts educate a number of students that live outside of the City of Oak Forest.
The link below will serve as the service sign up.

The Search Offered at St. Damian
Dear St. Damian Ministries and Organizations,
We are excited to announce that St. Damian will be offering The Search, a multi-part video based spiritual experience from the producers of Formed.org. The videos are beautifully done and interesting. In other words, they are not boring! Chris Stefanick is the narrator. Chris is a well-known and popular Catholic evangelist. If you haven’t heard him before, we know you’ll remember him after you see the videos!
We promise you that The Search is interesting to watch. However, it is not meant to be watched alone. That’s why we are beginning to form small groups – both in-person and virtual. There is a small Participant Guide that goes along with the videos. It, too, is well done and provides great questions for discussion.
So, if you haven’t thought about Lent yet, think about joining The Search video and small groups. There are 7 episodes to begin the first week of Lent and end by Palm Sunday. There are a variety of options provided to fit your schedules:
Narthex: Mondays, 1:00pm
Wednesdays, 1:00pm
Grimmel Center: Saturdays, 9:30am
Zoom virtual meetings:
Tuesdays, 10:00am
Tuesdays, 7:00pm,
Thursdays, 7:00pm
You can register for the above on Sign Up Genius.
There are other options, too. You can meet with your groups on your own just by going to Formed.org. Every parishioner has access and it is free. You can find The Search under Faith Formation. The Pastoral Center has the Participant Guides, $5 each. OR, you can watch the videos and form your own groups with family and friends … and maybe the neighbors. The possibilities are endless!
Plan NOW to make the most of this Lent. You won’t regret it.
The Tax Credit Scholarship Donations!
What does this mean? A $500 donation has a tremendous impact, with the 75% tax credit, you will receive on the donation and this match. It will have a net cost of $125 to you and will provide $1,500 dollars in scholarships for low-income families.
I am pleased to let you know that for the 2020-21 school year, we received over $100,000 in gifts. This allowed 16 of our students to attend St. Damian School. However, there were still 27 students on our wait list. Please follow this link to learn more: https://schools.archchicago.org/tax-credit-scholarships
