Swim Teams Recognized

Members of the St. Charles North Boys State Champion swim team and the St. Charles East Combined Boys State Champion swim team were recognized at the March 9 School Board meeting for their accomplishments in the pool. North Coach Rob Rooney talked about the energy during the finals and the two sections of fans from St. Charles who cheered for both teams. Coaches from other school districts commented about how wonderful it was to see the community come together for both schools. Swimmers from both teams presented State medals to Board President Carolyn Waibel, Superintendent Dr. Pearson, and Assistant Superintendent Mark Moore. The impressive group of seniors shared their post-secondary plans, which include going to the Air Force Academy, studying mechanical engineering, aviation, biochemical engineering, and computer science. We are very proud of our student-athletes.
Big picture

Growing Possibilities in the Classroom

Two Wredling Middle School students spoke about their Project Lead The Way experiences creating hydroponic gardens in their Energy in the Environment class. They articulately described the skills they have gained through Project Lead The Way such as problem-solving and collaboration skills, and have formed a passion for engineering and design while showing off their lettuce and basil plants!

Gina Shaw named new principal at Davis Primary

Mrs. Jan Geier, Assistant Superintendent for elementary schools introduced the team of parents and staff members who interviewed candidates to replace Denise Liechty when she retires at the end of the year as the principal at Davis Primary. Davis staff members Cathy Webster and Rachel McCulloch introduced other team members before introducing Mrs. Gina Shaw as the new principal. The team felt that Mrs. Shaw’s energy, her passion for students and her desire to collaborate with the community helped make her the best fit. Mrs. Shaw thanked the team before introducing her husband, Chip, and son Jack. Welcome, Mrs. Shaw!
