An independent variable is a variable that is changing on its own; the independent variable is the number of chapters Justin reads.
A dependent variable is a variable that changes depending on the independent variable; the dependent variable is the total time it will take for Justin to read a certain amount of chapters.
A constant is the number that is not changing and remains the same in each problem; the constant is the time it takes for Justin to read a chapter (6 minutes).
t = total time c = number of chapters 6c = t
The graph is increasing gradually as time goes by Justin reads more chapters. The graph ends at 19 chapters because the book only has 19 chapters.
