Many Hands, One Mason!!

December 8, 2019

Dear Mason Families,

Happy Sunday! I would like to personally thank our fabulous PTO for putting on a great Merry Morning at Mason event this past Saturday! The pancakes were amazing and the smiles on our student’s faces were priceless. It was also great seeing our community come together to celebrate the holiday season! We have so much to be thankful for... Please keep in mind that the holiday season can be a stressor for some (adults and children). As we finish strong over the next two weeks, we will be stressing the importance of having empathy for others, doing our personal best and simply being kind! Anything you can do at home to help our learners stay focused on finishing strong is greatly appreciated.

Wishing everyone a great week,

Roy Bishop, Jr.

Cell Phones For Soldiers

Cell Phone Drive for Soldiers- Not sure what to do with your old cell phone(s)? Our Mason Green Team is sponsoring a Cell Phone Drive for Soldiers starting Saturday, Dec. 7th during our Merry Morning Breakfast and continuing into the next school week, Dec. 9-13th. A collection bin will be set up in the main hallway at Mason for you to donate an old cell phone if you wish. This is a great way to not only show our students the importance of recycling, but also the significance of giving back to those who sacrifice the most for us. This collection drive provides a lifeline to our dedicated soldiers. Your generousdonation delivers calling cards to connect military members with their loved ones. Cell Phones For Soldiers accepts any and all types of cell phones from any carrier. Newer, gently-used mobile devices, including smartphones, are preferred; however, proceeds are generated from the recycling of broken and outdated mobile phones. Chargers and accessories are also welcomed to donate.

Green Team News

  • Our Mason Green Team needs your help for yet another important green initiative we’re rolling out...Waste Free Wednesdays. Your child watched a quick two-minute video on how to reduce the amount of garbage we’re creating during lunch. We challenge all staff and students to bring a Waste Free Lunch to school every Wednesday. Here’s a link to a brief video you can watch to learn more about how to reduce or eliminate trash in your child’s lunch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPkVQSSWmpQ

Thanks for jumping on board and developing a healthy environmental mindset for our kids and our future!

Think Win-Win (Fairness)-

I want everyone to be a success. I don’t have to put others down to get what I want. It makes me happy to see other people happy. I like to do nice things for others. When a conflict arrives, I help brainstorm a solution. We all can win!
