From the Office of Stephanie Hubbard: Wisconsin School Board Week Oct. 6-12
IG Panthers,
The Iowa-Grant School District will join school districts throughout the state to salute their local education leaders during Wisconsin School Board Week Oct. 6-12.
The commemorative week is designed to recognize the contributions made by Wisconsin's school board members, including the Iowa-Grant School District School Board, who are charged with governing public education under state law.
Wisconsin school board members are chosen by their communities to manage local schools. They oversee multi- million dollar budgets which fund education programs for more than 867,000 students in more than 420 public school districts. Their personnel decisions affect thousands of teachers, administrators and support workers.
These volunteer leaders are responsible for formulating school district policy, approving curricula, maintaining school facilities, and adhering to state and federal education law. Legal concerns and the complexities of school finance, including budgeting and taxation, require them to spend many hours in board training programs and personal study to enhance their understanding of these issues.
Our deepest appreciation is extended to the dedicated men and women who make it possible for local citizens to participate in education in our community. We salute the public servants of the Iowa-Grant School District School Board whose commitment and civic responsibility make local control of public schools in our community possible. Iowa-Grant School Board Members are: Renee Linscheid - President, Don Rider - Vice President, Rachel Zimmer - Treasurer, Kristin Spurley - Clerk, Fred DiVall, Greg Anderson, and Chad Vivian.
In addition to serving on the School Board, each member also serves on at least one Board committee. Board committees include: negotiations/personnel, finance, curriculum and buildings, grounds & transportation. Furthermore, some of the Board members are appointed as representatives to other boards. The organizations with School Board representatives follow: CESA #3 Board of Controls, Information and Technology, Iowa-Grant Education Foundation Board (IGEF), and Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB).
Please join us by saying thanks to our school board members during Wisconsin School Board Week.

Forward Exam Scores
Iowa-Grant students performed better than students across the state on the Wisconsin Forward Exam last spring. The Wisconsin Dept of Instruction released statewide results last week. Overall, the Iowa-Grant School District outscored the state average in all four subject areas: English/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. According to past results, this the first year that Iowa-Grant Schools has exceeded the state average in all areas. Way to go, Panthers! We are proud of you!
Flooring Pieces For Sale!
If you're a Panther fan, stand up and clap your hands! Several individuals were interested in large pieces of flooring memorabilia from our recent remodelling. We thought the funnest and fairest way to offer the most desirable pieces would be an auction! Go to: https://timslackauctionrealty.hibid.com/catalog/181912/iowa-grant-school-district-auction-2019/ to place your bid. There are four items available. We have two panthers, a square of from the auditorium, and the center IG from the gym floor (this had to be cut into two pieces, but it will be sold as one item.) The auction will close at 7:30 on October 11, 2019. The winners will be announced at halftime of the Homecoming game.

A big THANK YOU to our fabulous Parent Teacher Club for donating $2000 for our new Gaga Ball Pits at IGEMS. We are so grateful for everything you do for our students and our school.
Thanks to Cummins
Thanks to Cummins for sending a crew of volunteers to set up our Gaga Ball Pits today! They were very efficient and finished the job early. Panther Pack Program For Iowa-Grant School Students
The opportunity to provide a few extra snacks or meals for young people on weekends and extended breaks is the intent of the Panther Pack Program. The Panther Pack Program is designed to send child-friendly food home to hungry children in 4K-8th grades who may be experiencing food shortages at home. If you are struggling and need assistance feeding your child(ren) on weekends, the volunteers and staff members would like to give your family the opportunity to participate in the Panther Pack Program. Before a weekend or break, a free bag of food will be discreetly placed in your child’s backpack for him or her to bring home and eat over the break.
Research suggests that adequate nutrition has a positive link for children’s learning capabilities. We encourage you to take advantage of this program for your family and your child.
